Will it ever see the light of day?

Cult anime series Robotech has recently been acquired as an exclusive license by Mattel Interactive, which plans to bring multiple games based on the series to both PC and upcoming next-generation consoles. Development house Harmony Gold has signed on to develop these upcoming Robotech games, "Robotech's grand scale provides fertile ground for developing incredible console and PC games," said Alan Letz, senior vice president of sales and acquisitions for Harmony Gold. "We're looking forward to working with Mattel Interactive to add a new level of drama, fantasy, and excitement to the gaming and anime audience with our franchise." The franchise almost got a showing on the Nintendo 64 as Robotech: Crystal Dreams yet the title ran into constant trouble and was put on indefinite hold. Here's to Robotech's future and Rick Hunter's many upcoming videogame adventures, hopefully with a Dolphin incarnation.
