No confirmation of the Dark variants, but they may come as well.

Retail listing have begun to appear for standalone versions of a couple of rare toys.

GameStop is having a "Skylanders Day" this Saturday (January 9) in which packages containing the Donkey Kong and Bowser figures, along with their figures, will be sold separately for $24.99. The figures are expected to appear at other stores around the same time, and some have already appeared on store shelves.

Although the Dark variants of the figures are not usually sold separately, GameStop will be selling an exclusive Kaos Trophy ($7.99) which has been previously exclusive to the Dark starter packs. Listings for the Dark packs have also appeared at multiple retailers including Amazon and Toys 'R Us.

The Skylanders Day will also have offers where buying a Starter Pack ($39.99 for regular, $60 for Dark) will get a previous Skylanders starter pack free, a buy one get one free on SuperChargers figures, and discounts on select figures.

I figured they'd sell these separately at some point, but I'll probably get both the Wii U and 3DS games late this year when the new ones come out and the old ones drop down fast in price.

$25 per amiibo... yeesh. I'm still not excited for these versions, honestly.

The GameStop deal is pretty good if you need one of the older games.

Oh crikey!

I was pretty excited when I first heard about these but man the quality of these 2 Amiibo are garbage. DK and Bowser are 2 of my favorite Nintendo characters of all time too. I have the entire Smash line of Amiibo, most of the Mario line and the 3 small Yoshis and you can just tell the care that was put into them isn't the same care that is in the sky landers Amiibo.
