Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, and more!

Some quick news bits as things wind down for the holidays:

  • The Super Mario Maker 1.3 update went live on Tuesday morning, bringing the new elements and world records previously promised to the game. The web portal also went live and can be accessed at supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net for all your level discovery needs.
  • In other Super Mario Maker news, new Event Courses have been announced that will bring costumes of Birdo, Captain Toad and Excitebike racers to the game. These should roll out over the next couple of weeks.
  • The North American Splatfest this past weekend ended with an interesting reversal of fortune - although Team Nice won popularity 59-41, Team Naughty roared back to take the battles by the same score, resulting in a 395-305 pasting for the Naughty side. This is a new record high for biggest Splatfest blowout since the 6x battle multiplier was introduced.
  • A Tri Force Heroes update has launched that introduces "Hero Points" to the game. These points are earned if you don't win the roulette and complete the mission anyway among other factors, can be traded in for parts including rare ones that might have been taken in dungeons.
