Sheer love of marshmallows prevents hot dogs from mustarding victory.

Results from this weekend's Splatfest action, the first to be held under the new Splatfest weighting rules from the version 2 update:

Marshmallows 256, Hot Dogs 244 At Camp Triggerfish, the campfire duel was settled early as the Marshmallow side took a 64-36 win in the popularity poll. Team Hot Dog fought valiantly, as the Marshmallow side was run to exhaustion by a succession of civil turf wars, but the comeback fell 2% short at 52-48.

Marie (3-6) referred to the Marshmallow side as "sweet-toothed tryhards" in the post-Splatfest announcement. Judd is investigating the comments, however no action is expected to be taken.

South Pole 256, North Pole 244 The Arowana Mall duel was decided in the ink, as Father Squidmas led the North Pole to a 52-48 popularity win that was countered by the South Pole's 52-48 win in the battles. With this win, Marie has now picked up two of the last three Splatfest wins and one win per region of the game.

I think the phrase "it's like comparing apples to oranges" could be replaced by "it's like comparing hot dogs to marshmallows." What a weird matchup.

Are you seriously suggesting putting ketchup on a hot dog? What were you thinking?!

I hate you so much, Donald.  Those puns should be considered a war crime.

I usually miss these Splatfests due to being busy, but HOT DOGS GOT ROBBED!

It's a camp theme and those are two things you roast over the campfire.
