And it includes the one game the Wii U version forgot.

KoeiTecmo Japan has posted a video of a 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors that will include Wind Waker content. The Japanese title roughly translates to "Zelda Musou: Hyrule All-Stars".

The video confirms Tetra and the King of Red Lions will be playable, and real-time character change in the vein of Samurai Warriors Chronicles may be included.

Linking the 3DS version to the Wii U will unlock Wind Waker content in the Wii U game as well. No release date has been given, but you can check out the video below:

Likely N3DS exclusive? Looks sharp, hopefully we see Toon Link or some other Wind Waker characters. I wonder if it has multiplayer and if any other data can be swapped between the Wii U and 3DS copies.

The box art at the end of the trailer (where they show 3DS to Wii U) doesn't have the New 3DS badging on it.

So probably a benefit for frame rate to play on New 3DS, but it'll still work on the old.

well i'll be buying this when it's out, that trailer alone has me hyped to play on 3ds.
I'm so glad i brought a new 3dsxl right now.

there goes another 150+ hours.

I absolutely love Hyrule Warriors although I was waiting until I finished the main adventure mode before I would get the dlc. If this game includes all the dlc it'll be day one for me.

To unlock the Wind Waker content in the Wii U game you have to buy a whole other game for another system?  That's a big hoop to jump through.  Hopefully they'll also offer it as DLC.

I played Hyrule Warriors at my friend's house and it was pretty fun.  Not something I would pay more than $20 for but it was entertaining.  Provided this is for the "normal" 3DS this would be a version available on a system I actually own but I don't think I really want to play this on a small screen.  Probably better to wait until I get a cheap Wii U in the future and grab a used copy.

I'm with you, Ian. I love Hyrule Warriors but I am not stupid enough to buy the same game twice just for exclusive Wind Waker content. They would be wise to offer this shit as DLC.

And here I am with an E3 prediction rolling around in my head that we'll see Hyrule Warriors DLC.

The trailer is doing a misleading job of mixing 3DS and Wii U footage. The scant moments where I'm sure it is the 3DS version of the game look to be on par with my expectations and the 3DS version of Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3.

The game looks like it will be mostly made of portable versions of the assets of the Wii U game, which is expected. I hope there is more new stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a quick port of sorts to sell to all those Japanese 3DS owners.

Laughed uncontrollably when the out of place Wave Race music played.

I suspect Tetra and the King of the Red Lions will be DLC if you don't want to buy an entire separate version. Still, son of a whore, I bought the Hero of Hyrule pack for a reason. I'm going to see if I can just borrow someone's 3DS version. I don't play the game enough to drop more money on DLC, but something something Tetra something.

Is this a new game, or the same as the Wii U game?

ShyGuyJune 10, 2015

It looks like the same game to me. Maybe with all the DLC packed in?

It's a port with some new content from what I could tell from the leaked trailer.

Hell Yeah!

All of the DLC characters are on the box, so this is basically a GOTY edition with some bonuses (real time character swapping, extra characters, better form factor).

I love Hyrule Warriors, such a fun game.  So will Tetra and Kind of Red Lions be playable in Wii U version?
