A live action film, no less.

Threshold Entertainment announced today that video game classic Tetris will be making it's way to the big screen.

Partnering with The Tetris Company, Threshold is set to turn the puzzle series into a live action, sci-fi epic.

"Everyone knows that Tetris is one of the best known, most beloved brands in the world", said Larry Kasanoff, chairman of Threshold Entertainment. "What everyone doesn't know yet is this epic sci-‐fi story that we’re going to tell. That's what's really exciting."

There is no release date or a list of actors confirmed for the film.

If it's anything like battleship (as in how could they make a movie from that simple of a game) then I'm all in. I thought that sounded like the dumbest movie ever, but I really liked it.

Really?  I mean Battleship conceptually wise could easily be turned into a movie about the theater of war and the need for intelligence.

Tetris I don't really see anything this would naturally go too.

Maybe Tetris Movie will be about the importance of learning simple geometry.

If it's not The History of the Soviet Union (Arranged To The Tune of Tetris) then IDGAF.
