Check out the latest swag that is coming to Japanese Nintendo fans!

Club Nintendo Picross Plus and a special Japanese Mario-themed calendar are going to be rewarded to Platinum Club Nintendo members in Japan.

Club Nintendo Picross Plus features over 100 new puzzles based on characters from such franchises as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. The game will be a 164 block download and available only to Platinum Club Nintendo members.

The 2015 Club Nintendo original calendar features Mario characters wearing seasonal garb related to traditional Japanese holidays. The calendar will be distributed to both Gold and Platinum Club Nintendo members.

Neither award has a release date at this time, though typically Club Nintendo Japan items get to members before the end of the calendar year.

I think USA got a better deal. We at least got to pick from a few different options, this is exclusive sure but not an impressive game.

The only picross that I liked was 3D on DS, the 2D games just don't capture my imagination and are not as fun to me.

The calendar is a neat concept but I would never use nor do I understand Japanese.

It's probably easier to give more choices when you don't have to worry about how much to produce. Depending on how closely the rewards are produced, Nintendo may just have to make an educated guess.

@AV: The problem is that NoA didn't offer any impressive games either.  I'd take exclusive and unimpressive over non-exclusive and unimpressive any day.

(Granted, "impressive" is a matter of opinion in this case. But if you did feel that the games offered by NoA were more impressive then you have to also wonder if people wouldn't have acquired them through some other means - especially since they were all older releases. It's also not really fair to look at the end of year rewards in a vacuum because without looking at what other rewards you get with the points/coins/stars that count towards end of year status.)

Either way, they're selling the code on eBay!  I bought my own copy already and am thoroughly enjoying it comparing it to the original Club Nintendo Picross!  :cool;
