The worldwide Nintendo Direct will focus on previously announced games for each of Nintendo's systems.

A new Nintendo Direct will air tomorrow, August 7, at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. The subject will be previously announced Wii U and 3DS games, and the Direct will air in North America, Europe, and Japan.

It is very likely that we will hear more details about the major releases on Wii U and 3DS that are due out over the rest of 2013. That means games such as The Wonderful 101, Pokémon X and Y, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will most likely be mentioned in some capacity.

See below for a full list of times for different regions.

  • 7 a.m. PT

  • 2 p.m. UTC

I'm still crossing my fingers for a special Zelda edition 3DSXL. I have been wanting to upgrade but I want a special edition piece of hardware. Maybe it'll be all gold with a Trifoce emblazoned on it.

If it happens, Mike, you pre-order that thing immediately.

Truth is, I have a red 3DS that came with MArio 3D Land back when that was new. Then I bought a blue XL that came with Mario Kart 7 Pre-Installed My wife and I both play So I’ve kept them both and we use them both, but I’m wishing I would have snagged that blue Fire Emblem one. My 2 kids are now getting old enough that they’re wanting to play. I wish I would have snagged that one then I could pass down my original red one to them and not have to fear them breaking the systems I use (that have more games downloaded on them)

It's a big deal to ME!

I think it got delayed though. The app's website on Nintendo.com used to say August 8th for a release date, but it is now "to be determined"

I'm so unexcited for this.

its gonna be either a new smash trailer or a price cut. Take your pick

WAY too early for a Smash trailer unless its a 40 second new character clip. Though a price drop is smart, it's a skeptical possibility at best.

When the price drops, I'd be really surprised if the announcement is anything more than a press release. I don't think they'd waste a Direct on that.

BlackNMild2k1August 06, 2013

but they would waste a Direct to remind us that there are still games coming out... soon. we promise.
some of them even from 3rd parties!!!

Well the rumor right before E3 said Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mii were going to be the newcomers shown.  At E3, 3 of those characters in the rumor were given their own personal reveal trailers that are on their individual pages on the main site.

According to the rumor, Nintendo had all 6 trailers ready for E3, but decided to only show 3 of them and save the others for a later date.  So I think there's a good chance they might show the trailer for one of the other 3 at this event.  I wonder if Sakurai showing a picture for a Pilotwings stage today, means they might be getting ready for a Mii reveal in this Direct, since the latest Pilotwings game for the 3DS had the Mii's as the playable characters in that.

I would be too surprised if their is a steady stream of Smash Hype mini-trailers in direct.  Not even anything as big as a character maybe just an item being played with in a stage.

Every time you say something like this I want to pull out all the hair on my head.

I'm expecting new Wonderful 101 info and "Iwata Asks... Kamiya" going live after Direct.

Best. Direct. Ever.

Oh, and "summer" Wii U update would be nice.

broodwarsAugust 07, 2013

I expect tomorrow will be the Wonderful 101 Nintendo Direct, with some more Pokemon X & Y information and possibly some Link to the Past 2 news as well.  I wouldn't expect anything more dramatic than that.  It's too late in the year for new Fall game announcements and too early in the year for 2014 game announcements.

reginAugust 07, 2013

Come on, Shibata. Bring Zangeki no Reginleiv and Takt of Magic to the european eshop so that I can get rid of my japanese Wii. It wouldn't hurt if they were in 720p as well.

CaterkillerMatthew Osborne, Contributing WriterAugust 07, 2013

Who's ready for Donkey Kong's 4th playable character?

Shaymin, how old are you. Here you seem like late teens or early twenties. On miiverse you remind me of a 12 year old kid I used to know.
