Frozenbyte is searching for the right balance for the price.

Trine 2: Director's Cut, a Wii U eShop launch title, is going to be either $15 or $20, according to developer Frozenbyte's Sales & Marketing Manager Mikael Haveri.

The game is currently $15 on other platforms, but since the Wii U version features extra content, the company is considering the $20 price to account for the exclusive modes. However, Haveri said that they don't want to make the price so high that no one would buy it.

Additionally, Haveri said that their engine was easy to port over to Wii U. They just brought it over, tuned the visual effects, and it worked fine.

Trine 2: Director's Cut was playable at Nintendo's booth at E3 2012 and was mentioned during the Nintendo press conference.

If it's $15 on other platforms, and has extra content on the U, I would definitely pay $20 (in £) for the game. It's great the developer is trying to make this game really great value! By 'tuning the visual effects' are they confirming that the U has significantly more power than other platforms? Because other devs seem to be porting the visuals of their games.

what is the difference between the directors cut and the collectors edition? and around the time the wiiu comes out, it will probably be a part of a steam sale less dollars. (something that nintendo needs to get on board with)

The Wii U version will come with the extra levels/abilities DLC that hasn't released on the other consoles yet, along with some Wii U exclusive mode that didn't sound particularly substiantial.

Sounds like a game I will own for that price.

Damn, I thought it was going to be a retail release! I would've gladly forked over $50 for it, but at $20, heck yes!
