Battle & Get! Pokémon Typing DS, a typing trainer game for the Nintendo DS, is set to release in Japan later this month. Today Nintendo opened the official site for the game, which reveals new details.

Pokémon Typing DS features over 400 Pokémon as well as a handful of human characters, with a particular emphasis put on the fifth generation of creatures. The main goal in the game is to research the different species of Pokémon by typing their names using the included Bluetooth keyboard. The amount of data in your notebook is increased by throwing out your 'Typing Ball'.

The game contains over 60 unique courses, each with their own Pokémon and obstacles. The various courses all correspond to a key on the map, which resembles your keyboard. By completing these areas, you gain access to new areas. The game introduces a handful of new characters to the series, such as Kii Aoba and Eiji Kiuchi. These characters offer advice to players, and help them obtain more data on all of the game's Pokémon.

Pokémon Typing DS will be available in Japan on April 21 for ¥5,800.
