The alternate battery will provide double the playtime of the standard 3DS battery.

Nyko today announced two new accessories for the 3DS, designed to extend the three to eight hours of playtime Nintendo promises for 3DS.

The Power Pak+ is an add-on battery that replaces the standard battery unit that comes with the 3DS. Nyko promises that this device will double the battery life of the new handheld. The unit is more bulky than the basic battery, but for users who want to play the 3DS during extended travel it may prove to be worth it.

The second product Nyko announced is the Charge Base. It will allow for drop-in charging for 3DS units that have a Power Pak+ attached. The size of the Power Pak+ means that it no longer fits into the official charging station included with the 3DS. Both the Charge Base and the Power Pak+ will utilize the standard 3DS AC adapter.

The Power Pak+ will retail for $19.99, and will be available when the 3DS launches on March 27. The Charge Base, which comes bundled with a Power Pak+ unit, will be available for $29.99 soon thereafter.

isn't that just one accessory?

Is this the Unclebob information he has been teasing us about?

Not at all.  Nyko is a POS manufacturer who I wouldn't trust with such a thing after my last dealings with them.

Besides, the product I suggested is so much better than this concept.  Honestly, I'm *very* excited about it and can truly see the idea of the design not only being ripped off, but being used for other products in the future.

Don't buy this POS.  Wait for my baby to come out. :D  Designed by a gamer for gamers. :D
