Members can now get a Mario screensaver or commemorative pins.

Nintendo is adding five new rewards, a screensaver and four pins, for Club Nintendo members that celebrate Mario's 25th anniversary.

The first is the "Evolution of Mario" screensaver, available for 10 coins, that shows gameplay footage from all of Mario's past games, including his latest, Super Mario Galaxy 2.

The four pins, available for 450 coins each, feature original 2D artwork. In addition to featuring Mario, some of the pins also have Peach, Toad, and Yoshi on them.

Club Nintendo Members to Celebrate Super Mario Bros. Anniversary in Style

Nintendo of America is continuing its celebration of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.™ by offering special Mario-themed rewards for members of its Club Nintendo™ loyalty program. Starting on Oct. 20, members will be able to redeem their Club Nintendo Coins for a special "Evolution of Mario" screen saver and four limited-edition pins commemorating 25 years of Super Mario Bros. fun.

The "Evolution of Mario" screen saver features game-play footage from Mario™ games throughout the history of the series, from 1985's original Super Mario Bros. to this year's acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy™ 2. Members will be able to download the screensaver for 10 Club Nintendo Coins. This is the first time an exclusive screen saver has been offered as a Club Nintendo reward. The four commemorative copper pins featuring original 2D Mario artwork will be available for 450 Club Nintendo Coins.

Additional details about these and other Club Nintendo rewards, as well as how to become a member of Club Nintendo, can be found at http://club.nintendo.com. For more information about the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., visit http://mario25.nintendo.com.

Downloading the screensaver as we speak.

Man, those pins are so awesome! Too bad they are expensive in terms of coins!

Nice to see Club Nintendo getting more items, though as usual there's nothing here that interests me.  The pins are kind of cool, but they're overpriced and I don't collect pins so I have no use for them.  I'd be interested in the screensaver if it was something I could actually use on my Wii, but I never use a screensaver on my laptop (I just have the laptop turn the display off).

Just installed the screensaver. It is surprisingly cool. It is actually a flash video that shows off gameplay footage of all the Mario games.

StratosOctober 20, 2010

Wow. No joke on the pins being overpriced. I misread the article and thought you got a set for 450. But it is 450 a piece.

Ugh. And here I thought I saw something worth getting in the store. The screen saver is tempting though.

I don't mean to keep ragging on Club Nintendo, but it's extremely lame to have to spend coins for this (though I guess they've been doing this in Europe for years), especially if it's just old footage.

Is there anything stopping someone from copying the screen saver file and sending it to others?

EnnerOctober 20, 2010

I'd imagine not, Mop it up.

I'd be tempted to get one of these if it weren't for my mad quest to acquire the Hanafuda card set.

*drool*
I wanted the set of fans... but now... buttons... :(

I'm tempted by one of the buttons. I have over 1000 coins now (THANKS, BLOCKBUSTER!) so I'm not in danger of running out anytime soon. But yeah, they're way overpriced.

I ordered the last pin and got the Screensaver. I have tons of pins and buttons. Thank You Club Nintendo.

When is that Nintendo figurine coming for Platinum members?

StratosOctober 20, 2010

Last year I got it the day after Halloween. I was going to wear it to work on Halloween so I was a bit disappointed it was late by a day.

CalibanOctober 20, 2010

I guess it's time to fill out some more surveys, so that I can get two of those pins.

Fair warning... everyone's going to use all of their coins for buttons and fans... then *bamn* limited release of Mario All Stars for 2,000 coins.

Mop it upOctober 21, 2010

That's why I'm holding onto my coins until shortly before they expire in June.

AVOctober 21, 2010

Unclebog I really don't care about that mario re-re-release. I own all the games already, have tons of great mario music already on my ipod so that package is worthless. They should have listened to me and my requests for it: Super Mario Brothers Collection Special Pack Wishlist

Isn't that game out on the Virtual Console?

Someday Club Nintendo, you are going to offer something I want to spend my points on... someday.

Let's hope that happens before your coins expire!
