Pokemon and the Nintendo DSi XL highlight the release list for Europe.

Nintendo has announced their first quarter plans for Europe. The highlight of these releases is the Nintendo DSi XL, an updated model of the DSi featuring bigger screens and a brown/wine color case. It will be released on March 5. In addition to the DSi XL, another DSi bundle has been announced. The pink DSi bundle will include the game Nintendo Presents Style Boutique (known in North America as Style Savvy) and will be released on February 12.

Nintendo also showcases the software that will be released on all platforms. Like in North America, Endless Ocean 2 is the lone Nintendo first party release in the list. Notable third party games include Ubisoft's Red Steel 2 (dated for March), Capcom's Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (January 29), Sega's Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll (February 12) and Hudson Soft's Calling (March 18).

For the DS the biggest Nintendo release is Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. A remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver for the Game Boy Color, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver will include a Pokewalker device which interacts with the game. The title will be released on March 26.

Another notable DS title from Nintendo is Picross 3D, a puzzle title that will coincide with the European release of the DSi XL on March 5. Other titles expected to be released in the first quarter include Capcom's Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (February 19) and Sega's Sonic Classic Collection (March) among others.

Finally, plans for Nintendo's downloadable services on the Wii and DS were announced. European Wii owners will finally see the release of Excitebike: World Rally for WiiWare on February 5. Third party efforts include Press Play's Max and the Magic Marker (January 22), Team Meat's Super Meat Boy (Q1), Capcom's Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice For All (Q1) and Konami's Frogger Returns (Q1).

For DSiWare, no first party title was announced, but some third party titles include Konami's Reflection (Q1) and Flight Control from Firemint (Q1).
