Wonder Boy and Fantasy Zone to be first released at $4 a piece.

Sega of America announced today that they will release Virtual Console games from their first major video game system, the Sega Master System. The standard price for Master System games will be 400 Wii Points or $4. Wonder Boy and Fantasy Zone are the only two games mentioned and currently do not have any release dates.

Two Master System games have been released for the Japanese Virtual Console in the past two months: Fist of the North Star and Fantasy Zone. However, the two games were priced at 600 Wii Points ($6) and 500 Wii Points ($5) respectively.

At last count, this is the sixth iteration of Wonder Boy to hit Virtual Console and this specific one is the original and the basis for the NES carbon copy, Adventure Island. Fantasy Zone is yet another side-scrolling shoot-‘em-up.

But anyway, I think its awesome that Virtual Console's getting more systems, but I'm a little bit perturbed that we see the same two genres over and over again. Those two genres being schmups and Wonder Boy, of course

SHmups were big back in the day. BUT WHERE IS MY 1942 ARGH!!
