Those of you in New York City can see Nintendo's big moment--live!

The Nintendo World Store is hosting a special event on May 9. As part of the store's first year anniversary, Nintendo plans on showing their E3 press conference live to the public at 12:30 PM Eastern Time, on a first-come first-served basis.

After the conference concludes, the party will continue with competition and prize giveaways. There will also be a late-evening RSVP-only event, though details on how to register are not known at this time.

This is a golden opportunity for fans on the east coast to see Nintendo reveal the Wii once and for all, as well as show what else is coming down the road for the DS. Of course, if you can't make it to the NWS, you can keep your eyes glued to PGC for our week-long E3 coverage!

NICE! All my finals are this week (Wed and Thurs!). Ah, totally awesome way to start summer break.

wanderingMay 01, 2006

ah, awesome. Though I wish they had announced this sooner. Don't know if I can make it.

Maybe next year they can stream it; that would be royally awesome.
Then again, that would certainly steal the thunder of all those website writers frantically typing every word that drips from Iwata's lips.

I'd go if I didn't have to pay for a hotel.

And gas wasn't outrageous.

And I could talk my wife into letting me go.

MarioMay 01, 2006

So do we know which websites will have a quality free live stream of the event? Is Nintendo.com doing anything?

Tuxedo.BondMay 01, 2006

It's a no-go for me as always. face-icon-small-frown.gif

Live stream live stream!

ThePermMay 01, 2006

Streaming Wii eh?

If I wasn't in damn Rochester, NY for school, I would definitely be there, but the trip is around 6 hrs and gas here is $3.05 a gallon. :-(

cmoneyMay 02, 2006

Pft. It's $3.95 a gallon in here Nova Scotia. That's converted to US for you folks.

Bah! I'd go if it were only 6 hours (I assume that's round trip?) Mapquest says it's about 16 hours - one way - for me. face-icon-small-frown.gif

KDR_11kMay 02, 2006

It's 5.70$/gal here according to google calc.

we need to rewire the planet! petrol is releasing far to many greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and contributing to a global climate crisis!

I'm so glad I live 70 minutes from Manhattan. And that all my finals will be over this Friday. And that I'll be there, thinking about how jealous all my hermit crabs will be.

SlayerZeroMay 02, 2006

I think this may be one of the only times I'll ever wish to go back to NY.
Unfortunately, I'm still in high school AND I won't get my license for another 6 months!

Actually 6 hours one way assuming traffic isn't bad. Plus I'm broke :-(.

UncleBobRichard Cook, Guest ContributorMay 02, 2006

Really? You live *in* New York State and it's 6 hours, but it's only 16 for me from Illinois? Wow.

Nick DiMolaNick DiMola, Staff AlumnusMay 02, 2006

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous, I'm originally from Brooklyn(NYC) and being out in Rochester is like living in a different country. Rochester/Buffalo is pretty much the furthest point from NYC. Actually 100% of New Jersey is closer than Rochester to NYC, even alot of Massachusetts is closer. But when Nintendo World Store opened I made the trip down there and it was pretty cool. Fun day trip plus I got some cool stuff.

actually i wish i was closer to rochester right now. nothing nintendo related but MC Lars is playing there tomorrow night and i doubt i can make it.

oh and not to brab but......SUCKERS I ONLY LIVE ATLEAST 45 MINUTES AWAY. all i gotta do is catch a 10-15 min bus (depending on traffic) to take to the subway and then its atleast 20 minutes if not less (cant remember) to rockafeller plaza. it would actually be my third time down there and only my second time to get in (if i do get in...)

i showed up one day and they were doing some special event, they had a picture of baby mario crying in his bubble that said something like "sorry, we're closed due to special events" and i felt exactly like the picture...face-icon-small-frown.gif

so yeah, i might just go and tell you guys ALL about it face-icon-small-smile.gif

jealous?

BiLdItUp1May 03, 2006

Yah, NY is really big...we drove up to Niagara Falls for senior trip last yr, excruciating.
Anyways, I'm actually moving back to Bklyn this Fri cuz the term is over...luckily, the Q still works on weekdays. In any case - PGCers and tendofans of the Tri-State area, unite! How early do you guys think we'll have to be there to semi-decent seats? Any of you guys wanna try and meet up?

EasyCureMay 03, 2006

i dont mind meeting up. i just requested the day off from work today, but realized i have no one of going with cuz everyone else has finals and stuff. i really dont wanna go myself but i already asked for the day off. ...i hate situations like these

BiLdItUp1May 03, 2006

Ah well...I have nothing to do that day anyways...if anyone's interested, email me at gmail (same name).

EasyCureMay 07, 2006

WOO! Only two more days till the big event. Is anyone else going to the World Store or am i the only one?
I hope "customer appreciation" means free swag!
