Kim Possible 3: Team Possible

Why does Ron Stoppable keep a naked mole rat in his pants?

After hearing nothing but praise for Kim Possible 2, a GBA game which slipped under the radar due to its being a licensed title, I made sure that I'd check out the latest in the series. Kim Possible 3: Team Possible is on the Nintendo show floor, and also appears to be a pretty good licensed title. The level that I sampled is in a jungle, where you initially have to play as Ron Stoppable. Ron isn't as agile as Kim is, but he does have a trick up his sleeve -- or in his pants. He's got a pet mole rat that he keeps with him, and by pressing R at certain points, players are able to take control of it. The mole rat is tiny and can be used to climb up vertical surfaces without any trouble. There are also certain areas that have hamster wheels -- the mole rat can jump into these and run on them to make ropes drop down for Ron so that he can progress.

After I reached a certain point with Ron, I got a call on my communicator saying that I would need Kim to continue, so the game switched over to her automatically. Kim is able to perform moves like flying kicks and so on, so she is much easier to attack with. She can also grab onto poles and swing off them to higher areas. After a bit of searching, I found Kim's Grapple Gun. The gun is straight forward to use, using a really clever tutorial which has a holographic Kim performing all the actions to show you how to use the item. To use the gun, all you need to do is press R to fire it, then swing left and right to get some momentum. After you've done that, you can jump off using the A Button. I used the grapple to cross a dangerous lake that Ron couldn't pass, and met up with Ron. Once both characters met up, it became possible to switch between the two using the Select button. From there it became trickier as you need to combine both characters' abilities to bring them to pressure switches that they both need to stand on.

Kim Possible 3: Team Possible looks like it will be a good game for both younger players and those who are a bit more experienced. Hopefully, it will live up to the reputation of the previous game.
