Tekken Tag Tournament 2

When Tekken meets Nintendo, all power-ups break loose.

Tekken's arrival on Wii U is just as goofy as it is awesome. There's no other way of saying it. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 arrives on Wii U with the utter awesome that Tekken has been known for. From button mashing combos to timed out combo sets, Tekken is coming in full swing here. The fighter brings along a plethora of characters including my personal favorite, Panda.

Nintendo is as prevalent in the game as it can be. Along with other costume packs come the Nintendo-themed outfits where characters can don the red and green hats of the Super Mario Bros. The Wii U version also adds a brand new exclusive game mode. In this Mushroom mode players will be duking it out in traditional Tekken fashion but will be surrounded by mushrooms that pop up all over the stage. These mushrooms can either make you bigger, smaller or giant. If you're wondering if this mode could actually be any fun, I can wholeheartedly say it is.

The game can be played either on the Game Pad screen or a television screen. Honestly, it doesn't make a huge difference; I mean that in a flattering way. The game looks phenomenal on both screens. The controls are tight and the game is undoubtedly fun. It plays great overall and and has the potential to be the first great fighting game for Wii U.

A combination of hardcore and a touch of "Momma Mia...".  Tekken Tag 2: Wii U Edition is gonna be a FUNtastic game to play on the U.

It really is. I had a blast playing it. It has just the right amount of hardcore and goofy.

Can not wait for this game! A bunch of you better get it as well! I want to play online!

I'm very much considering it. It is now on my radar. Although, Tekken 3DS was beyond terrible. Since this is based on an existing game that people seem to enjoy, maybe I'll be willing to look past the throwaway portable version.

Cater, you're really making me want to grab this game, too. I am a fight game nazi, though. I'll see what I can manage come launch day... ;)

Yay! I know there are still questions about the online system, at this point no developer has complained and this along with aliens and CoD have me convinced everything is going to be ok.

I love to get really good at home with the console version then take my butt to arcades. It always broke my heart that Tekken constantly over shadowed Soul Calibur, but now man I am determined to get good at this game.

I dealt with Brawls online for a consistent 2 1/2 years, this will satisfy me for years to come. Wait how many tekkens in a single generation?

This will definitely be my first Tekken experience then. It's the one fight game series I've never dropped in to for some reason or another. Tekken's a 3D arena fighter, right? That's probably why, as I'm mostly a 2D fight game fan.

But man, I really loved Fighter's Destiny on the N64 back in the day...  I'm sure I could whip up some magic after a little bit of practice, though. ;)

The first time I played Tekken was at this past E3. I think... This is the first one I will ever own or play for any significant amount of time. As far as fighting games go I am just the opposite, I am a 3D fighter fan, and despite this game being so competitive I'm sure I will be able to handle myself as time goes by.

I really really tried to get good at 2D fighters, SF4 and TvsC but man I just can't wrap my head around those styles of gameplay. I always feel so restricted in movement. Guess I just didn't put enough time into them.
