What do you get when you cross a drunk Tony Hawk with a drunk artist? Aside from sexual innuendos and misunderstandings, you get Whirl Tour.
Whirl Tour's premise, if you can call it that, is pretty simple. A bunch of kids in a group band get struck by lightning and start riding scooters. And such. I'm on the edge of my seat just typing this! The game's graphical style is that of a Japanese cartoon, but not cel shaded.
The game itself it very simplistic and does not hold nearly as much depth as the aforementioned THPS titles. You can grind, manual, and pull off a few tricks, but nothing fancy. The environments are fairly enclosed, and like Tony Hawk, there are certain mission objectives you must do within the time limit that often pertain to non-playable characters in the environment. Whirl Tour could be a good game to let your younger brother or system rent, but it seems to be a fairly hollow game with some poor game mechanics and collision detection. Hopefully it will be improved by the time it's released.
