This guide contains information for players to use on their second time through the game so that they can find every non-essential item and scan everything.
This Metroid Prime logbook and "red entry" guides are primarily designed for people who have completed Metroid Prime. Chances are, if you've started the game, you've already forgotten to scan something that cannot be found again (some kind of mini-boss creature for example), so you may as well give up trying to fill your logbook until you restart the game. Because of this, there is going to be significant *SPOILER* content and none of it will be specifically marked beyond this point.
However, the non-essential item list contains no specific spoiler content beyond location names, so if you are low on fire-power or energy, feel free to take a look at that portion of the guide.
