The February sales survey from the NPD Group saw a lot of action for newcomers that missed Switch in software, but another big month for Switch hardware.

All figures are dollar based unless otherwise indicated, and represent sales in the US from February 3 to March 2.

In hardware, the Switch was the best selling system in the US for the second straight month, and is obviously the best selling system in the US for 2019. Nintendo's hardware dollar sales in February were the highest since 2011, the last month before the Nintendo 3DS debuted. Although sales figures were not disclosed, sources indicate the Switch sold over 350,000 systems in the four week period.

Software saw four major releases in February dominate the charts: Electronic Arts's Anthem, Jump Force from Bandai Namco (the third best opening month in company history), Far Cry: New Dawn (despite a lower MSRP) and Metro Exodus. Despite that, Super Smash Bros Ultimate was the best selling Nintendo platform game of the month and finished 7th overall. NBA 2K19 was 9th in the combined format chart, New Super Mario U Deluxe 11th, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 12th, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 15th, Minecraft 16th, and Super Mario Party in 17th.

Nintendo's lone retail release of February, Yo-Kai Watch 3, was the top selling 3DS game for the month, followed closely by Atlus's Etrian Odyssey Nexus. Two new Nintendo Selects titles, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Super Mario Maker 3DS, also returned to the top 10 following their price cuts.
