A remake of a GBA classic

Nintendo announced a remake of the GBA game "Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga" for the Nintendo 3DS during their Treehouse Live 2017 E3 stream, alongside a brand new trailer.

This new game features updated graphics and a brand new mode, "Bowser's Minions". This mode features a brand new additional story that happens parallel alongside the events of Superstar Saga, with a focus on what happened to all of Bowser's scattered minions.  

Featuring a new battle system with different mechanics, you can play as different Captains and use "Captain Points" to command a mob of minions (featuring different types of units) to fight other mobs of minions. The mode was described as "a storm of activity" with deep strategic elements and skills to master.

At the end of the stream Nintendo also announced that the Boo, Koopa and Goomba amiibo from the Super Mario series will be compatible with Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions. Details about amiibo functions will be revealed soon.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is planned to release October 6, 2017.

I played this back on the GBA when it was new. It is the only game in the series I have played. I mostly liked it at the time, but I dont think I would these days.

I'm not really interested in a remake of Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga (especially if it just has updated graphics and nothing else), but that Bowser's Minions mode does look intriguing.

I've never played the original Mario & Luigi, it's somehow the only game in the series that I haven't tried. Given the praise it's always gotten, I'm interested to play the remake.

Can we just get the Bowser segments of Bowser's inside story and make that into it's own game?

I always wondered what went on with Bowser's minions and what happened when Bowser was away from them at various stages in the game.  I feel that there could be  some pretty humorous moments with the backstory that will develop.
