European Wii U users have jumped on the chance to download EarthBound in its opening weekend if the ''recent best seller'' list on the Nintendo eShop is to be believed.

Among the confirmed places where EarthBound is in the top spot on the best sellers list are the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. In all locations, the title currently stands on the number one spot.

While we don't know the actual sale numbers on the title, the Miiverse population has grown to almost 15,000 people. This doesn't reflect the real figures, but the numbers do say that it is almost in the top five of most discussed Virtual Console software. The title is available worldwide and was released last Thursday in the west after a Nintendo Direct Mini.
