Broadband Adapters Sold Out?
« on: November 06, 2002, 07:50:13 AM »
We’ve been getting floods of reports on this issue from around the globe.  Is Nintendo canceling the newly released Broadband Adapter?

As we reported (don’t say we didn’t warn you) weeks ago, Nintendo had shipped a limited supply of Broadband Adapters to stores.  Most allocations were limited to pre-orders, and a few extra units.  Now most retailers are completely sold out, and the hardware is listed as Discontinued.

In related news, there’s also a shortage of Phantasy Star Online, and at some stores this is listed as discontinued as well.

All this means is manufacturers (Nintendo and Sega) only shipped a limited amount of these items to retailers, and they currently cannot get anymore.  This doesn’t mean the companies won’t produce anymore, it’s just that the retailers cannot get anymore.

So what can you do if you want to get a copy of Phantasy Star Online, and a Broadband Adapter?

1.   Call stores in your area
2.   Get an import adapter.  They work just fine with the US version (and Japanese version) of Phantasy Star Online.
3.   Check Ebay.  (it could get ugly)

Good Luck!  We’ll keep you posted.
