Cute, but not particularly magical.

Dress To Play: Cute Witches has two components: customizing the look of your cute witch, then riding your broom and avoiding obstacles in the sky in an endless runner-like adventure mode.

Neither mode is particularly satisfying. The editor is too limited, and the witches you create all end up looking mostly the same. Palette swaps further limit the possibilities, as 10 of your 20 accessories are simply different colors of cat ears.

The adventure mode looks very cute and runs smoothly, but movement is slow and the enemies are simply baffling. Don't expect cute owls and black cats: the skies are filled with jumping balls, spinning green globs, and flying cow udder monsters straight out of a crazy cartoon.

Most accessories for your witch are locked behind an achievement system. Some achievements require you beat a score or reach a milestone in the game, which gives you something to strive for. But nearly half the achievements are of the mindless "play the adventure mode 30 times" variety. No thanks.

Children might not mind the perplexing enemy design as long as the game is blindingly pastel enough, and they might have a higher tolerance for mindless gameplay, but I like my games to be more stimulating.

Wouldn't your kid prefer that as well?
