A prototype of Metroid Prime 3 built on Gamecube hardware with additional memory was leaked.

The prototype, built in March 2006, features a debug menu and can be played using a Gamecube controller. The debug menu features a slew of options including a weapon select screen and the ability to change Samus' energy tanks and health.

The prototype revolves around the opening moments of Metroid Prime 3. However, there are plenty of notable changes between the final build of the game and this version. Puzzles making use of Wii technology are not present, and some design aspects of the levels themselves are different.
