First up for WiiWare, is Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice For All, available for 1,000 Wii Points ($10). This is the second title in the beloved handheld series, originally released for Nintendo DS. The game has four complete cases to play through, as well as new game modes including Investigations Mode and Court Mode.
Also on WiiWare this week are Art of Balance from Shin'en Multimedia and WarMen Tactics from Calaris, both costing 800 Wii Points ($8). WarMen Tactics is a third-person over-the-shoulder style shooter set in the year 2013. The game has you sneaking around the streets, taking down enemies with multiple weapons. Art of Balance is a puzzle game that has you stacking various objects on a scale, trying not to tip it to either side. The game features split-screen multiplayer, or drop-in co-operative gameplay.
On DSiWare there are five titles to choose from, including Spaceball: Revolution from Virtual Toys, Scrabble Classic from EA, Real Soccer 2010 from Gameloft and Prehistorik Man from Interplay, all available for 800 Nintendo DSi Points ($8). Spotto!, a Nintendo-published title, is also available for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2).
Spaceball: Revolution is a port from the WiiWare version of the game, released last September. The game has you shooting balls through a grid to match a shape on the other screen, seemingly an action-oriented take on Picross.
Real Soccer 2010 is a sequel to Real Soccer 2009, one of the first games released on the platform. That game was a follow up to a retail version, Real Soccer 2008, released the previous year. The game is a straightforward soccer simulator with full 3D graphics and multiplayer.
Prehistorik Man is a game that dates way back to the title Prehistorik 2, which was originally released on DOS computer systems in 1993 and then rereleased on Super Nintendo in 1996. It is a platformer that features a cave man who sets out on a quest for food.
Scrabble Classic from EA is a version of the classic board game developed for DSiWare and features both single-player and multiplayer modes. The last DSiWare title this week, Spotto, features the titular duck who must rescue the president's daughter, Chikkie Wowwow. The game has 50 stages, and features stylus-based gameplay as you adjust Spotto's aim and attempt to destroy ghosts who would block your way.
The lone game for Virtual Console is Sonic and Knuckles, featuring the lock-on technology that made the game's 1994 release particularly notable. By itself, the game is an ambitious Sonic platformer featuring huge levels and classic Sonic 2D gameplay. However, if you have Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in your Virtual Console library, the game allows you to play as Knuckles the Echidna in either of those games, opening up new areas and paths in the older titles. Sonic and Knuckles is available from the Wii Shop Channel for 800 Wii Points ($8). The release is notable because it is the first Virtual Console game to interact with your other Virtual Console releases, and it does so at no extra charge.
