According to this, Capcom are currently working on yet another new Resident Evil for Gamecube, in addition to RE4. This is from a Japanese magazine called Game Laboratory, not sure how reliable that is, but yeah.

What could it be?

I was thinking it may be a gun game, but then there is not light gun support for GCN. Scratch that idea.
Maybe its a port of one of the PS2 games like Outbreak, with multiplayer or LAN instead of online modes?

That'd be awesome if it were a gun game. I mean.. A good Resident Evil gun game. Then Namco would release a gun on the GameCube, then they'd make a Time Crises, then Sega would go "oh a gun" and make a new House of the Dead and Virtua Cop. THEN, Nintendo would go "Oh a gun" too, and make a new Duck Hunt, but instead of ducks, it'd have to be zombie ducks with hats. Don't want to upset the duck loving people out there in this new scary age we live in.

Im not sure if Capcom would release RE Online for GCN.. but you never know, this is Capcom we're talking about.

Personally i hope it's like another RE 'sidestory', like Code Veronica.. which is very doubtful.. *shrugs shoulders*

I guess there is also a (very small) chance that it's remakes of 2 and/or 3?

A gun game would be rockin, the GCN needs some light gun lovin. Let's wait and see shall we..

It's really not that surprising...We are getting Ghouls and Ghosts Online, so the possibility for RE Online just increases... ^_^

Yeah i was just thinking that... 'if' it is RE Online, it should be interesting to see how they implement it on the GameCube. RE Online doesn't really excite me that much though, since they dont sell BBAs where i live.

Capcom announced it months ago[G&G online], but its became official recently. There is a thread on this very forum about it, but my lazyness prevents me from finding it.

I'd say maybe RE 5, but that thought is so far-fetched and highly unlikey, that I shouldn't bother entertaining it...

It will not be a Light Gun Game.
Capcom keep the Resident Evil Light Gun Games for PS2/PS3... and it is not going to be a port of Resident Evil: Outbreak, thats for sure.

If there is another Resident Evil Game for Nintendo (And there will be) it would be on GCN 2.

There is no chance at all that there will be remakes of 2 and 3.

And Code Veronica isn't a side story.
Thats why they ported it over to GCN... because they want the Main RE plot/story on the Nintendo.

Its a 50% chance it is RE5... and a 50% chance it will be something similar to Code Veronica.

It might sound stupid but instead of a Gun Game, how bout an actual FPS like Halo... based on the RE liscence.. That might be cool...

I was thinking kind of the same thing after the intro movie for the REmake when you are watching through Joseph's Camera which was basically in First-Person.

But it would quickly loose the scare factor that it originally had.

what the hell do you do in resident evil online?

There will be another Resident Evil Game after RE: 5 on Nintendo Systems.
Its Kind of obvious what Capcom will do with Resident Evil.
As soon as Capcom ported Resident Evil 2 over to GCN... alot of stuff became predictible with the saga.
Most fans knew that RE: 4 would be released in 2004, even before seeing that on the Official Biohazard Website.

Why does every game in the future have to compare to Halo? Sure, people like it. It's not the Second Coming!! Move on, for pete's sake!

After seeing the demos for Half Life 2 (the claustrophobic levels running from hoards of enemies are very cool and scary), I'd see any attempt at a Resident Evil FPS being very similar to that. Pity that one never made it out last year.

The exclusivity deal is not a permanent thing. As I understand, the deal made way back when covered 1-4 and CV of the series (4 was in development at the time) and I'd be surprised if Capcom throws money at another true Resident Evil game, let alone on a Nintendo console.

But don't shoot the messenger. Look at the effort put into recent RE games (2, Nemesis, CV) - what, can't see it? That's because they DIDN'T CARE! Fudge out a port from a redundant system and hope no-one notices. Great plan, Capcom. Maybe it has more to do with making Resident Evil 4 awesome (which I hope), because I have a gut feeling this game could tie up the loose ends of the series making 4 the last hurrah, and completing the series on one console. Five is a nice number right? You can count it on one hand, even...

How about "Resident Evil: Knife Survivor" where you use this motion sensing thingie like the EyeToy and wave around a wireless bright-orange "survival knife peripheral" at your screen like a panzie trying to cut down a zombie. Oh, and add in like one of those dance pads so you can aerobic-step in the direction you want to run away at (away from the zombie) cuz realizing you only have a lousy knife you know you're forked.

What are you talking about Capcom dosen't care!?

The reason that Resident Evil: Zero, REmake, RE2, RE3, RE:CV:X & RE4 is because Capcom GREATLY cares.

They didn't remake 2 and 3 because basically every single fan dosen't want in REmade... and they have great reasons.
In the future is the only thing you want to see is Remakes?
Who knows? We might even have a Remake of the REmake.
Now that is stupid, and you know it.

RE2 & RE3 dont need to be remade.
They are fine as they are now.
It would just be completely dumb if we had Remakes of RE2, RE3, RE: CV:X & RE4.

Capcom DOES care, and thats why they put basically every Resident Evil Game onto the GCN.

Believe me when I say this.
I have been a fan for many years now... and all fans basically know what Capcom will do.
We knew RE4 was going to be released in 2004 as soon as the First Trailer came out saying '200X'.

And trust me.... there will be another Resident Evil Game on the GCN.
And THERE will be many more Resident Evil's to come.

RE5 will not be the last... nor will RE6 or 7. And there will also be plenty of side-story games.
I know this because Shinji said that there will be as many Resident Evil games as there are James Bond Films... meaning that we JUST passed the Half-Way mark... which may not even be the Half-Way Mark. It could be Quater of the way to the end of the saga.

Unfortunetly I'm leaving for two weeks so I can't keep talking.
And you know I am right.
Even to proove myself how much of a Fan of Resident Evil I am... you can ask akdaman1.

Now having played RE2 *pats himself on the back*, I can see why the RE series is popular as it is. But a Remake? I dunno....

Personally, I'd like to see the series end pretty soon, as after playing most of them (I have not played Code Veronica X yet... no spoilers for me please), they need to tie up a LOT of loose ends. Having the main story go on and on would seem a little goofy.

Looks there's no news yet, but hopefully there will be soon.
