This is what the over world in WW2 should be like.
« on: November 24, 2003, 08:52:17 PM »
Take a look at these pics for Dragon Quest VIII. I really hope we see stuff like this in WW2. I would love to be able to explore huge open areas like that with rolling hills and forests that are made up of individual trees. That pic with the character running through the forest is something I've wanted to see in a 3D Zelda game ever since I first heard about Ocarina of Time. I pray to God that Wind Waker 2 doesn't end up being a water based over world like Wind Waker. Ugh. I mean it was a neat and original thing for Nintendo to do but I really don't want to see it repeated. In fact I wouldn't mind some sailing but please make it so the over world is 80% land or something like that. Oh and just imagine getting to ride a horse through a big open over world like that. Mmmmmmm.

Yeah!  That's some cel-shading that I'm cool with.  I doubt we'll see this graphic style in WW2 but if we see it in the N5 Zelda games I won't complain about cel-shading.  I think that style would fit Zelda really well.

And I also would like a land based WW2.  You can talk about how Wind Waker had the biggest overworld ever but it was a bunch of blue nothing so who cares.

Yeah Dragon Warrior VIII is turning out to be a very pretty game. I wish it were coming to the Cube, though

I also wish they'd have kept the old DW style fighting as well, I loved those 2D hand-drawn animations.

Anyway, I agree, a great, big, foresty over-world would really make my Zelda-Day.

It's an RPG. It's made in Japan. It's not coming to Cube. Therefore the only possible system it could come out on is the PS2. Unfortunately...

its always handy to have as many sytem counsels as you can!   I have PS2 in my room, my sis has the cube in her room, my dad has the xbox in his room, the nintendo is downstairs, and the PS1 is in my 5 year old sis's room.  Let's just say we are a family of game freaks!

I completely agree, I think it would be nice if there were spereate continents(not islands) that needed to be reached by sailing.  I think that would combine a lot of wind waker elements as well as allow for varied scenery and large land roving on a horse.   The continent thing has been done before in Adventures of Link and I think it would add a new style of play to the game.

Holy crap. That's hard core. But I'm just a Ninty kid. I consider it electronic adultery to stick an XBox's plug into my house's sockets.

I want a lot of geographical diversity. I want hills, jungles, forests, gulfs, rivers, plains, and tons of other things you see in the real world.

Bill's avatar is obviously a boy raised as a girl. Can't you tell by looking at it? Duh!
