Wow. I have a lot of Wii games at home - just a shade over 200 titles according to my backloggery records - but can't imagine trying to collect everything. Crazy!  :D

(In all honesty, I'm not sure I'd want to collect everything. It's going to be many years before I can everything I've already got.)

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Even if he only played every game for one hour, it would still take over 52 hours days. Then when you consider he'd definitely want to play the games he likes for longer than that, it gets pretty crazy.

Wow 1260 games for a single system, even if many of those looks very unappealing to me, it's still pretty impressive to be so dedicated to collecting them all. Barely recognise any of the ones highlighted in that photo series, although I do know that for that citybiker game you could connect your Wiimote to an actual stationary bike that was used ONLY for that game haha.

Now that's a challenge: to collect all of the Wii accessories (too many of which were only used for single games).
I almost bought Babysitting Mama just because of how ridiculous it was... and that's not the only time I've been tempted by foolish accessories. Probably a good thing I never saw that biking game you mention or I'd probably own it - the concept seems pretty genius and apparently it's compatible with Mario Kart.

My favorite Wii accessory is the Tatsunoko vs Capcom fight stick. It's fun to use with fighting games, SNK collections, and a bunch of other games on the console.

Wait so that came with an actual baby doll?? And I thought the Sega Fishing Rod was elaborate... Eat your heart out, Steel Battalion!

So I looked up the Cyberbike and from this video it sounds like it might be compatible with any Wii game that used GameCube controls... Imagine rocking up with this to your local Smash bros Brawl tourney! It might even work for Sin & Punishment Star Successor?!?! D'you reckon this would work on regular GameCube too? I wanna combine it with Odama for maximum idiocy.

I just got something a little more tame. This is a completely wireless version of the Wii Classic Controller made by Datel that I got NIB for $60. It syncs directly to the system itself (no Wii remotes required) and is supposed to be a nice piece of kit for emulation (and it works with Virtual Console releases which is my main reason for being interested in it.)

Nice!

How does it feel? I always worry about third party controllers because I've used so many that just aren't good quality - but having the wii remote and classic controller combined this way seems like such a good idea.

Was it expensive? It must also work with anything on Wii U that supports Wii classic controller (although I'm not sure how many games outside of VC actually do).

... A decent action-RPG with mediocre story and solid, Pokemon-esque gameplay is Spectrobes: Origins.

This is one of the remaining holes in my collection - would like to grab a copy eventually because it looks like a solid title, but it's not really a pressing need due to having a massive shelf of games already.

Well that hole (emphasis added by me) should be fixed.
Who started this dang thread that's making me buy more Wii games?  Am I the only one or are others also still buying?

Nice I also got Red Steel 2 a while back, looks really good still thanks to the artstyle they chose. I haven't gotten very far yet but so far so good. If anyone knows how to skip those 'don't forget to adjust the wrist strap and plug your wii motionplus into the shown accessory' videos I'd be glad to hear it though. Probably some button combo but I didn't figure it out right away and they're a bit obtrusive haha.

The controller is still shipping. Oddly enough the original classic controller has analog/digital triggers that nothing ever used but the Wii U software actually accepts inputs from the analog parts of the triggers which the Wii software I've tested it on does not.

And it supports Mario Maker and the Wii U virtual console. Considering that the one thing the original Classic Controller has over the Wii U Pro Controller (or even the Classic Controller Pro) is it's semi SNES style form factor that's a pretty good load out.

Yeah, that controller is really freaking nice. It synced up to the Wii U really easily and it works very, very well.

The D-pad is a bit dodgy with diagonals though but overall it works very well (and apparently the D-pad can be swapped with the one with the original Classic Controller to fix the whole thing anyways.)

One odd thing is that, IMO, it makes playing Wii Virtual Console games via off TV play somewhat elegant compared to what it was with a Classic Controller tethered to a Wii Remote. Maybe this is what it will take for me to finally finish Ogre Battle 64.

There's no way I'd ever want to have every game for the Wii. Like any system (especially a successful one), it has way too much junk on it. I say this as someone who has 215 disc games for Wii, so it isn't like I don't like the system. But it's still a shovelware minefield.

There are still some more games I wouldn't mind having for the Wii, but I'm not sure if I'll get around to buying them. Some games go for a bit more than I'm willing to gamble, such as the PokePark titles which I'm not sure I'd like. Another reason is that I haven't even come close to playing the games I do have, so I've been prioritizing buying games on other systems.

Yeah, that Datel retro controller is really nice. You know what else is really nice?

Ironclad, an import Neo Geo game you can get on the Wii Virtual Console for 1000 points.

I really enjoyed Red Steel 2. It's awesome how a lot of these nice titles are inexpensive. Then again, there are some like Fishing Resort that cost a good deal even used!

Well, I tried to swap the D-pad but I wound up damaging a wire connected to the battery slot in the Datel that renders the entire thing useless.

I got the original Classic Controller working again (although the L and ZL buttons are unresponsive, fortunately I only need the face buttons for Ironclad!) and I plan to NOT mess with controller Modding ever again.

It was very interesting to take the thing apart so I guess I got that out of the experience. It's absolutely hilarious how similar the two controllers are on the inside as well as the outside.

I always have ambition to do some light modding - but none of my attempts have actually worked so far.

Have a nice GBA SP at home with hopes of transferred the screen into an original GBA body eventually... but strongly questioning if I'd be better off paying someone with experience instead of trying to do it myself.

For me it's Go Vacation. A half-decent looking Wii Sports Resort knock-off that is still way to expensive from online re-sellers. And it doesn't seem to exist in any brick-and-mortar stores I've looked.

I need to get back into Fishing Resort. Didn't get too far. As for Go Vacation, it was fun exploring the four sections of the island and many of the attractions are fun. Some? Broken, like mini golf, but that was an optional one.

As games go, I don't see Rune Factory mentioned yet. Frontier is still my fave in the series and one of my fave Wii games. Adding dungeon crawling and crafting into the Harvest Moon formula was a great idea, it made me feel like I was really working towards the adventure by funding it with my crops and building up my house to craft better items from the materials I've found in the dungeons, allowing me to slowly inch farther and farther into them. Compared to other games in the series, Frontier has a good set of dungeons as well as a good town and a nice set of items and equipment to craft.

Tides of Destiny is good, but it really downplays the farming so it isn't as good of a mix of things. It also has the tiny text / menu problem of HD games since the lead platform for it was PS3, whereas Frontier is exclusive to Wii.

You should totally take a photo of your Wii games collection.
I've considered taking some updated photos of my stuff since I've gotten a new camera, but it would be tricky to find the space to spread it all out at the moment.

The Runey system in Frontier spoiled any fun I had with the game, unfortunately. Perhaps there was a way to work with the system better, though.

I can't blame you, that whole Runey system was a misstep and I didn't like it either. The game doesn't do a good job explaining how to manage it, nor do they really express the importance of doing it. I quickly resorted to a guide on GameFAQs, it not only explained how the system works but also how to build it into prosperity. There was a second guide for maintaining the Runeys at the bare-minimum level of function for people who just want to play, naturally that was the one I chose. It was pretty simple steps to just do that so it no longer interfered with my enjoyment.

Tides of Destiny doesn't have the Runey system, nor do any of the other games if I'm not mistaken, so I'd suggest trying one of them as well.
