While in Japan recently, I got the rare chance to interview some Japanese gamers (known as the most hardcore gaming market) and heres what some of them had to say about M$ jumping ship and copying the more cost-effective Nintendo by going with ATI instead of Nvidia for their next console.

(I say rare chance because no Japanese gamers are interested in talking about the Xbox platform, period).

What language is that?  It's not Japanese or Chinese, as I tried just about every combination available to me.  I even tried Korean, without any success.

pgc doesnt understand anything but the (roman?)alphabet..it turns everythign else into random garbage..well not random..might as well be because you cant translate it back.

Yeah, I went to Japan this morning and pulled some hardcore gamers out of their kawaii mega super fun happy time Hello Kitty photo booths. And by hardcore gamers, I mean extremely cute school girls.

Me: So, how you doin'?

Reply: *ビジãƒ¼!*

TRANSLATION: *SLAP!*

Me: Awww, erm, oh yeah! What do you think of Microsoft's Xbox? Interested in that N.U.D.E game? How about DOAX? *raises eyebrow*

Reply: *スカス*

TRANSLATION: *kick in groin sound effect goes here*

And with my interview done, and a swollen groin, I headed to a bookstore and bought some pervert manga and a large Coke.
Then, I had a good chat with the clerk.

Me: So.... You got an Xbox mate?

TRANSLATION: Sex-box? No, only hentai!

Walking out, I noticed a pretty big gaming store. The manager was throwing factory sealed Xboxes out the back door into the dumpster. I approached.

The forum displays Shift-JIS-encoded Japanese, and should display any other language regardless of encoding.

The post definitely isn't Japanese, at least not coherent Japanese. Given the patterns in characters i'd say that it's just a word or short phrase copied and pasted repeatedly. But i stopped caring after i realized it wasn't Japanese.

If anything, it's a slam against Xbox.
