So you want them to fire all their bullets today? The Direct is already generating positive buzz. There's no point in having the demo come alongside it when the game is still so far away. More promotion after this and a demo at the end of the month sounds like a better plan than just going "here, have everything today."
1. If a demo & a Nintendo Direct are
all Nintendo
has to market Wonderful 101, they're firing blanks and the game will fail just like most Platinum games do.
2. I've never subscribed to this ridiculous notion Nintendo (and by extension their die-hard fans) seems to have that the game won't sell as well if you actually allow people to build anticipation for a game longer than a week in advance. Get the demo out to be the one-two punch with the Direct, and then support the game with
actual advertising in the month leading up to release.
That's called a "marketing campaign", a term that seems to be a foreign concept to NoA these days. And lest we forget, September's a big month for game releases. If Nintendo waits until the last possible second like they always do, they'll get buried by just about every other release.
