That AWDS deal at Fry's/Outpost comes up $34.99 in the cart. I just ordered it at GameExpress for $30.99+5.47=36.46 shipped FedEx ground to PA. Thank you, EB Games, for only having pre-ordered copies at the store.

Bad move amazon.  I just cancelled my $236 order.  I'm pretty sure they'd have made up the $15 dollar discount on that one order.  Not to mention I don't plan on buying from them anymore and they've lost a whole bunch more over on my lifetime purchases.  I understand that things get screwed up in systems.  But they should just eat the small loss they would have gotten on this deal.  I was especially po'd that I didn't get the email until tonight.  The price has been fixed for three days.  I could have already went to a store and bought the game and been playing it for that time.

My parents once got a george foreman-like stand up grill for free from Kroger.  It was originally like $130 and on sale for $100.  The cash register wrang up the original price of $130.  Kroger's policy is if the item gets rung up wrong then you get the item for free.  Now that's customer service.  Not that I'd expect Amazon to do this, but they probably were still going to break even at $15 especially since they were going to charge me like $6 for 5-10 day shipping.  Oh well, I live right by an ebgames that has treated me well.  Gonna pay them a visit tomorrow.

The difference of course being that Kroger does that for an individual (single) person. Amazon.com on the other hand probably had thousands and thousands and thousands of orders for the $14.99 Nintendogs. The price was posted all over the internet. Lets estimate say 10,000 pre-orders multiply that times $15, and means that YOU yourself as the bussiess owner are going to have to foot $150,000 because of the price mistake. Versus Kroger where you would only have to pay, what $130?

clevel~1: Stop complaining, misprints happen. It's standard retail policy not to honour misprints, all catalogues and stuff have little disclaimers "may contain misprints" on them. I won't comment on what I think of anyone who seriously thought Amazon would sell the game for 15$, that's just too obvious.
Besides, games have such tiny profit margins they'd lose ~10$ on every copy sold at 15$.

Okay so I was a little mad and I would probably buy again from Amazon again if they had a great deal.  However, apparently alot of people thought it was a real deal or it would have jumped to number one overall in the sales category.  And deals like this happen all the time especially at places like amazon.  I believe they had Eternal Darkness for $14.99 a month after it's release.  I see places like Best Buy have games $10 off at release to get you to buy it from there.  It would have worked too because I went mad and bought several games while I was at it.  I was more mad that it took them so long to respond.  They fixed the error almost immediately.  It's as if they were waiting for the rest of the order to ship so I couldn't cancel back on them.  Luckily I shipped everything together and one item took a week to ship.

And the loss speculation is just that.  But I'm pretty sure they could sell it for $15 and lose a minimal amount.  Every month or so Meijer has the buy one get one half off sale.  That means two DS games at $30 a piece comes out to $45 or $22.50 a game.  They have more overhead tied into the games because they have to have people stock the games and the upkeep of a storefront business whereas Amazon is all automized and warehouses.  How much do they make?  Beats me it's anyone's guess but I don't think Meijer loses money on the deal or they wouldn't continue to give it.  And like I said Amazon was going to charge me $5 on shipping that costs a dollar and the tax on the shipping.  So that bumps the real price Amazon was charging up to $19 for the game which is close to the deal at Meijer.

And if your argument is that Amazon sells more than a Kroger/Meijer whatever, then that means they also get thier stock for cheaper because they have much better negotiating power.  Kroger is going to have to sell alot of groceries (thier main seller) where they made pennies on the sale to make up a hundred dollar write-off.

KDR ~I won't comment on what I think of anyone who seriously thought Amazon would sell the game for 15$, that's just too obvious.

I would have agreed with you that I needed to stop complaining on the message board taking up the thread space.  And indeed I'm already over it.  I cancelled my order and reaffirmed my position that I needed to save at least 20% to buy anything off of amazon.  I think that's fair retribution.  I bought the game, which I thought was worth $30.  I was able to support local businesses/jobs.  And then you add a comment like that.  Why don't you just make a generallization about my intelligence?  Let's see you know I believed that amazon would sell me Nintendogs for $15 as part of a price promotion that would get me to buy one of the hottest games from them.  That this incentive would encourage me to buy more items from them both now and in the future.  That I believed thier pricing system was correct because it's clearly correct over 99% of the time.  And that I post on this message board about once every two months for varying reasons.  Heck why don't you make broad generalizations about my job, my wife, and my house?

I picked up Nintendogs from EBGames yesterday by trading in 4 old GBA games.  All I had to pay for was the tax.  So, if you want to get Nintendogs for cheap, you can always follow that route.  The clerk told me that the promo will last until the end of this week, so if that's what you want to do, you better hurry.

Also, take in more than 4 games just in case because there are some games that they won't take.  My copy of Dragon Tales was worth $0.00 to them.

I don't have 4 GBA games that I want to get rid of, though ;__:  There are some GC games, though, that I wouldn't mind getting rid of just to make my GC collection more "pure."  It'd be worth it just to have them gone, they do nothing much stank up my collection.  I wonder if they would be enough.....doubt it =(

I saw VJ2 at Best Buy, also for $15.

I have a question though, does VJ2 have a level of all bosses like the first one did?  See, I'm at that part int he first game, and I can't beat it (I got to Fire Leo a couple times, but I can't beat him...).  I have decided that the all boss level was stupid and I refuse to play such a poorly designed game.

I'm not sure yet.  I stopped playing VJ2 before RE4 came out, and i'm probably halfway thru the game.  I'm playing on Adults, and I will say that the bosses seem much, much easier, but mid-bosses are much harder than the bosses, and stages seem harder and unbalanced than VJ1's cuz the rate of tougher (cheap) enemies they throw at you is annoying.  That, and i'm stuck at a vehicle level that's just not flowing as well as the flight level in VJ1.

Honestly, Fire Leo is one of the easier bosses, cuz his attack pattern is pretty rigid.  Tho you do have to be pretty coordinated during Mach-Speed platforming.  I'll try to show you what I mean...  In any case, the all-boss level is a fantastic reference to the Mega Man system.

I thought "1 old game = 0.25 new game" was standard EB trade-in policy?

And trade in 4 games for one game? I really don't think that's a good deal. I mean, I'd trade in Bubble Bobble and maybe Advance Wars and FFTA but there's no fourth game I'd trade in...

For the promotion, EB bumped each of the 4 games to $7.50 each.  That comes up to $30, which is 1 cent more than the game costs.

As for the games, I traded in Castlevania Circle of the Moon, Namco Museum, Double Dragon, and Classic NES Metroid.  Normally, the trade in value for all four of these games combined would be around $5-$6.  Considering that these are games I don't play anymore, and was planning on getting rid of anyways, I think it's worth the trade for Nintendogs.

As for getting that fourth game, I would just go buy a used, cheap GBA games from them and then trade that in.  It would still be cheaper than paying $30+ dollars for it.

I remember reading a review for VJ2 which said that the all-boss level is in the game.  In VJ1 it just seemed to get more tedious throughout each difficulty(especially for the other characters).  I think I'm just going to pick up a copy now and maybe save it for when I'm ready to play it.  I actually just started a game on the hardest difficulty last night.  Does VJ2 have enough new stuff to seem like I'm not playing through VJ1 again?

Normally, the trade in value for all four of these games combined would be around $5-$6.

Normally, the eBay value of these games is more than that. Plus you can rip 'em off on shipping and get an extra buck or two for each game .

Well, Professer, with Sylvia as a playable character right off the bat, the game will feel different. There are some similar elements but having to switch between Joe and Sylvia will make the game feel different.
As for an all-the-boss level, yes there is one (I played VJ2 and beat it after six months of not playing it). For more info see my spoiler below: *WARNING*
Towards the end you'll encounter an female android who initiall disguises herself as Sylvia and take the rainbow oscars from Joe. Then, you'll meet the professor that made her and he'll say something about observing your previous boss fights and recording the data or something. . . Anyway, she'll change forms in to all of your previous bosses until you finally beat her and do something to her computer brain, I can't remember what.

P.S.:
Burning Leo had a brother, Ice Tiger, who you'll meet in VJ2. He's easy if you know just when and how to hit him.
