I already have Osmos (and it's a lot better on the iPad than on PC anyway)

What?

I just think it works better with the touch interface than with a mouse, same as Plants vs. Zombies and (from what I've heard) World of Goo.

If Nintendo was truly interested in pushing their online services forward, they'd partner with Valve.

That would be so awesome, but it will never happen, especially now that Sony's sort of doing it.

What's it really matter? It's easier to just download the Mac file right from the bundle's website and archive it to use whenever you want. The annoyance would be having to load Steam and download all of your games through it.

No joke--I still have the original Humble Indie Bundle sitting in a folder on my desktop.  It's been there for over a year.  I haven't touched it.

It's just easier to have the games available through Steam.  I don't have to think about storing the games anywhere else.  I always know where they'll be whenver I finally get around to playing them.  :)

It sounds like you already know exactly where they are. :P

That's why I have a 2TB NAS... Everything is sorted quite well.

Man, Cortex Command is garbage. Seems they forgot that before adding content and modding you need a solid foundation and the foundation of CC is as broken as it can be. I think the most telling example is what happens when you try the "Massacre" (kill 25 enemies) game mode. Enemies start spawning and dying in various accidents, e.g. getting crushed by a toppling rocket just after leaving it. They'll pile up the 25 kills all by themselves.

Well you know, maybe it would be garbage if it were anywhere even remotely near being finished, but given that it's not...

Also, I can't see any of those games working "better" on an iPhone unless you just hate using a mouse.

I wouldn't call Cortex Command garbage, just near unplayable. The problems with the Devs of CC is that they don't even have the basics down. You know, things like walking straight without falling over. They are so tunnel visioned by the physics system that they don't realise why certain things are intentionally abstracted out (Like walking) so you don't have to program a physics system just for the legs just so it can interact with the ground which is another phyiscs system altogeather.

All that just so the player can walk. The AI then has to deal with this too. Even something a simple as a rocket which NASA could land without too much grief was done with a computer less powerful than a wrist watch is made endlessly complex by their own systems.

I admire the devs for shooting so high, but their aim is vertical, all that stuff they launch is going to come straight back down on top of them.

Cortex Command is a fun toy, but I doubt it will ever be a game.

It's a pity they can't offer the console versions of these, or I'd actually pick them up.  I have no use for the PC versions.

None of the games are very demanding. Even a very modest system could run them without blinking an eye. It's a pity people get so hung up on consoles... I have no use for console ports.

With the current status of the physics they should never have moved into the pretty-it-up stage of development, they already have very well developed graphics and all but the basic physics are at a state that's unacceptable.

You know that they haven't changed the graphics at all in nearly the entire time it's been in development, right? It looks exactly the same now as it did two years ago. The only changes they're making are in AI, physics, and other gameplay-related areas.

I can't help but feel like you guys hate sandbox games. Have you even downloaded any mods for the game at all?

BBBUUUUMMMMPPPP!!!!!!!

Humble bundle #3 is almost here. The games are  Trine, Shadowgrounds, Shadowgrounds Survivor, Jack Claw, and Splot. Jack Claw is windows only, but source code is available and splot is still in the oven. The other three are multiplatform as per usual PC, Linux, Mac. If you haven't noticed, they arer all Frozen Byte games.

Avaliable here at 9PST whatever time that maybe. Use UTC damn it, we're not all Americans.

A suggestion to the mods: Merge the Humble threads into a mega one since this looks like a fairly regular thing now, but keep the delicious Thighs.

I already own Trine on PS3, so I'm not going to bother with this bundle.  Still, that's a good deal, considering Trine at least is an excellent game and according to Joystiq you get the soundtrack for it as well (which is likewise excellent).

I already own Trine twice (retail and Steam bundle), but I threw them another dollar. If the other games are interesting, I'll add more.

I bought Trine during the Steam Christmas sale, and I don't know anything about the other ones.

I already got the two Shadowgrounds games out of some dirt cheap publisher pack on Steam. Not really interested in anything from this pack.

Even if you're not interested, you could literally get the pack for free. It never hurts to have more games ready and waiting.
