because I'm more of a Guard Lancer, my evasion timing stinks.

I need some Gracium, Carbalite, and Firecell Stone.  Then about 60,000 more Zenny...  Everything else I either have or are so few that I'll get them getting the rest of the ore for the Armor itself.  After that I need to get Agnaktor Carapace for the Decorations (I'm doing this all off memory.)

I would like to eventually swap out Auto-Guard and Guard+1 put in Handicraft Decoration and a Talisman (which I think I have one that would be big enough) to get Sharpness+1  as I get better.

I also want to eventually have Bandarlance "Byakko"  Which I'm about 6 Incomplete Plans and 6 Firecell Stone away from getting but, the Armor comes first.  The great part is I think I can get this armor without going after anything I think I'm to squishy for right this sec.

Having Auto guard on the set is kinda redundant. When you auto guard you have to have your weapon out and facing where the attack is coming from. You don't counter from Guard  1 when you take an auto guard hit. If I am mistaken on that and you do counter from an auto guard hit that means that you will be pretty venerable and may not be able to counter again and you will take damage from any attacks while you are trying to recover from your auto guard counter. If you have a 5 guard tali you can get Guard+2 on the set. You can counter more effectively with Guard+2. I think with most rough attacks with guard+1 you will counter straight ahead and not upwards like with Guard+2.

The best full Guard armor is Agnaktor  +. You can even gem in Sharpness +1 but you lose out on Razor sharp since the handicraft gems cancel out the sharpness skill.

Guard: Decrease knockback when blocking attacks, and decreases stamina loss when blocking heavier attacks
Guard Up: Causes previously unblockable attacks to become blockable.
Auto-Guard: Enables ability to automatically block attacks (when blocking is possible).

From my Personal experience with Auto-Guard its like holding the block button but not.  The only time it stops working is when you run out of stamina or your in a situation where you couldn't block anyways (Mid-Lance attack etc.)

The only way to counter is to actively counter I'm fairly sure.  I don't see any skills that will do a passive counter ability.

Been doing Giant Jho and was the status gunner. I got a few god charms but none that I really wanted. I used this setup. http://divinewh.im/s/1_1v_1S.o_X.o_1T.o.o.o_1R.17_x.Q.1F  I used the Thudercrus rex frame,Jhen cannon Barrel and Chaos wing stock.It can fire 5 para 2 and 4 sleep 2.   It also can fire four pierce 1, three pierce 2 and four pierce 3 for when your teammates haven't done enough damage and you can't sleep or para anymore.

Best time I had today was about 3:09.

How can you possibly do that in 3 minutes!?? I want in on that, what kind of set would I need to be able to help take it down so fast?

Sorry for the real late response but I was doing some Ala and Giant Jho. Best time was 1:28 for Gian Jho. Now for that run I wasn't the status gunner. I was the pierce gunner. Here was my set up.I've improved the set but only slightly. Here is the armor pieces. Diablos+ cap, Diablos+ vest, Diablos+ guards, Alloy+ waistlets and Gobul + Leggings. I had a 6 expert with one slot tali. Here were the guns I used. Here is the second one which when both are maxed out this one beats out the other one however it only has one weapon slot the other one has 3. Chaos wing,Devil Grin, and Blizzard Cannon. For the above gun you want to swap out the alloy + waist with Chakra or Helios+. Everything else is the same.

Now for the second gun which is.Thundercrus Rex ,Devils Grin, and thundercrus. For the first gun to be the best it can be without doing Adren +2 you need a 7 expert with one slot tali. These are the skills that would be helpful. Critical eye 3,Pierce shot all and pierce shot boost. I can get critical eye 2 with the Chaos wing setup right now.I'm just one point away for getting Critical eye 3. The Thundercrus Rex gun can get Critical eye 3 without much problems.

 I just came up with another pierce set up. This one has Great Luck,Pierce shot boost and Pierce shot all. Very easy to make. Jaggi Mask, Diablos+ vest and arms. Vangus coat and either low rank Uragaan leggings or Alloy + Leggings. If you use a one slotted weapon then you need a 4 fate tali. If you have more slots then you can get away with a lesser fate tali. If you don't have any fate talis then just put in a 10 skill with the tali. In case you guys didn't know the Jaggi Mask affects the amount of Regular Quest rewards. The normal quest reward for Jhozilla is timeworn Charms so you get more then usual after the hunt with Great Luck or Good Luck.

I still want to make the Alatreon armour, and one of the things I still need is a Skypiercer which I believe are more common with the event. But I don't like to play that quest with three players, so I hope that we can find a fourth. I've got plenty of bombs and supplies so that shouldn't be an issue if you want to use your status gun, Maxi.

The event Ala has more HP so sleep bombing alone will not be enough to kill Event Ala. I can probably get the both horns off of normal Ala with my Great sword.

Well Kytim beat his urgent finally. Who else is close to HR50? I think ejamer,Ceric and apdude are the only ones left that isn't below HR51. Maybe Toruresu but I haven't seen him much.  Whoever is the first to comment here or PM me will be the next to get ready for their urgent.

I'm actually at home Today because I suddenly got sick this morning and I don't want that happening on the Drive to work.  I have my VPN working so I'll be working some throughout the day but I'm pretty much free.

What HR are you now Ceric? and if you are in the 40s which weapon do you want to use versus Alatreon?

My current plan is to make the Ingot+ set first.
Then Upgrade my Tusk Lance+ to Sabretooth by farming Barioth.  I wish Sabretooth had 3 slots then I could get Gaurd +2 as well but I have to go with the Blue Crater series for that and Alatereon is weak to Ice so I think the Tusk Lance be a better fit anyway.
Once I have Sabretooth.  Farm the Snot out of Agnoktor with the Ingot+ set because I like to mix in some pieces of his armor to get Guard +2 but its not essential to the setup for Alatereon.

You don't have a 1 slot charm Ceric? With the Sabertooth you can get Guard up,Guard +2, Thunder resistance and wind proof High. You just have to gem in Guard +2 in all the slots.
Also what is your best Guard tali?

I have charm that would do it but I would prefer to have the Autoguard one if possible.  I've had a 2 slot one from very early on.
