An APE escape? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, I'm such a card.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

Think it's only pay to play in Japan. Made it free for the Western version.
I need something catchy here...

Yes, it's free to play in the West. They already confirmed this.

I'm just glad they included WiiSpeak support for the Western releases.

If it isn't pay to play and we can actually get something going weekly, definitely count me in.  Lindy, are you doing the review? :)

At the moment, yeah.  I think I may be the only one on staff that has any basis for comparison, since I have MHFU for PSP.

Didn't you only play it for like a half hour?  Even so, you still probably have more experience with the series  than anyone else on the forums.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

No, I've put about 10 hours into it, IIRC.  Enough to kill several monsters and get to the quests where you have to round some people up to do them.

It's pretty cool, and I can see how people get into it.  I'd wait for the Wii version Zach, if only because you'll probably have more people to play with (unless you play with strangers online).  If you can find it cheap, you might want to check it out though.

To answer your first question, I plan on picking this up on launch day here in the UK, an unknown day in April. Of course, this is assuming it receives favourable reviews, which I'm sure it will (40/40 from Famitsu, for whatever that's worth nowadays).

Unfortunately, the nights convenient for me are mornings or afternoons for the vast majority of you. In which case, for everyone else's benefit, I would have to stay up into the early hours of the morning, something I can only afford to do on weekends. Long story short: Friday p.m. to Saturday a.m. and Saturday p.m. to Sunday a.m. (GMT, obviously) would be good for me.

Jolly good. Yeah, if a lot of people buy MHTri and we can establish regular meeting times once or twice a week, the replayability of the game will increase tenfold.

Agreed.  It really helps to play with a regular crew, so everybody knows what gear everybody has and are adept at playing a certain "role" in each fight.  Like one person is bait while another attacks, one person is in charge of laying the trap, etc.

You mean for online play?  That I just don't know.  My assumption is that Capcom will be running the servers for it, so I'm not sure how they'll split things up (if they do at all).

Yeah, the online play. If the North American version has Wii Speak support and the Japanese version doesn't, I would not be at all surprised if this game ended up being region-specific.
