That _screenshot_ has cut out heads. It looks cool in a still, but I have to think it would be kind of distracting and gross in motion. Quick cuts from profile to side view, that sort of thing. I hope that isn't the case.

Honestly, I know they won't do this, but the game would have potential in a Mii style. Make every player using the Mii engine. Allow for some "cheating" here and there and I think it could look really cool.

If it is 3-on-3, here's hoping for full six player online play.

Disagreed. 3D rendered uncanny heads don't look as interesting as the cutouts.

Look at EA's Wii track record, look at Tiger Woods 2010, and you know they likely won't achieve anything nice by going the standard 3D route. Going cartoony-kiddeh Mii style would just hurt what's already wounded.

Pale: Horrible idea. Quick Cut Expressions Heads would look great in motion and would be really funny especially for the first few times you played it.

Get the ball stolen: Surprised face
Steal the ball: Cocky face
Sink a 3 pointer: The Smug "In Yo Face" face
Going in for a super dunk: Wide eyed mouth open face
Slam the ball thru the hoop: Googly eyed tongue out face
Get shoved down: Mad face

Of course I'd expect everyone to have slightly different faces and more than one expression per trigger, but I think it would look great if it looks anything like the screen shot.

As far as Mii heads. secret code or create a player career mode.

And I also want a 2 on 2 game, but an unlockable 3 on 3 mode could also be an option.

Secondly, remember those codes for Goldeneye 007 that let you play as the Rare staff in multi? There's a character that looks JUST like Ed, or at least i always thought so. I only ever had one person agree with me, so i'm throwing it out there to see if anyone else remembers seeing his face in Goldeneye. Anyone?

I guess I just don't see them getting 120 NBA players to allow them to photograph them in 6 different goofy poses....

So yeah, I envision like two stock players association images that look like ass.

I think it would be more like filming them make various faces for 10 -15 sec and then splicing it together to make the faces that they want.

It would be like stop motion picture swap and could look very good if handled exactly like I imagine it in my head.

I'm gonna see if I can find an example somewhere online.

Still doing this to 120 players is a ton more work than EA has ever done for any sports games I can remember. I mean, in NBA 10 they didn't even bother bringing rookies in for head shots.

I'm sure they have tons of footage that can be used if they didn't want in-studio shots taken.
They could take stills from Live game footage or press conferences. There are ways to do it without calling in everybody for some 1 on 1 camera time.

But you are right, that seem like alot of effort over current 3D modeling techniques, but if it pays off, it will have all been worth it. I just really hoping that EA does not let us down on this one.

It's definitely true; I checked IMDB before I posted it. He was only in a few episodes, but he very nearly stole the nomination for president and I'm pretty sure he ended up as Santos' VP at the end of the series.

Joking aside, Ed O'Neil really deserves to be given bigger and better roles. He's been almost unheard of since Married with Children ended. Dutch was an awesome movie. We need more like that.

A few more details.
There is going to be Motion Controls.Here is how it is going to work.
A button Passes
B button is Turbo
Swipe controller side to side for crossover and steal on offense and defense respectivly.
Shooting and blocking is like in Wii Sports Resort.
Pull up Wiimote to jump than flick your wrist to shoot.Same motion to block on defense.
To do a dunk you hold turbo and then you do the motion of shooting the ball.
To shove someone you hold turbo and do the side to side motion as if you are trying to steal the ball.
To do a spin move that counters the shove you do the side to side motion while holding turbo.

Oh before anybody complains about the motion controls there will be NES style controls.
