Yeah, wouldn't it have been great if the game had really realistic cars anda Princess Peach who's boobs shook vigourously as she rounded corners, and had just been renamed Grand Turismo Mario Kart. Oh wait. That woulda sucked. Jeesh. Nintendo's doing something neat and new with the two player thing, the game looks gorgeous (go back and play the N64 version if you think this looks bad) and yet people will just scream cause they don't focus on reallism and they aren't "original".

I'm so excited. I haven't been this excited about a Nintendo game for... a month. Yippee!

Why should games graphics always be pushed to the max, atleast in this case we can be sure that Mario Kart will be running smooth, which is very important. It looks neat, it looks good enough to be from this generation, what more could you want. Its friggin MArio Kart kids.

sacrafice graphics for framerate any day of the week. this game looks amazing and the stratagy did just jump out the roof. and hopefully that translates into more fun. this game will be great....its been a good couple days....first rs3 now this.

I think the graphics are great.  Not anything revolutionary, but its one nice looking game.  Not every game can be zelda.

I hope there are alot of characters and you can mix them up any way you like.  Don't get your hopes up for too many items, though.  Characters like Bowser and Baby Bowser will probably be clones like some of the guys in SSBM.

The problem with most Nintendo screenshots lately is that they put a LOT more effort into the little things that make a game memorable, instead of simply trying to wow with special effects.

For instance, it totally wouldn't surprise me if the characters actually steer their cars with their little stubby arms, and if the characters react much more realistically to driving conditions, track conditions, and other players.

Sure, it's no "mario with realistic skin, proportioned body, and each individual strand of hair rendered individually," but who cares?  It's a GAME, not a tech demo.

MKD's graphics engine is a modified version of Mario Sunshine's graphics engine, kinda like how MK64 was derived from Mario64.  Remember Peach's Castle at Royal Raceway?  That was cool.

Miyamoto would never let the gamers down by not having the classic feel. Also, I don't know if someone has already said it but, GRAPHICS CAN'T BE OUTSTANDING WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS GOING ON, thats why Metriod Prime was so beautiful (not a whole lot was going on). Well you can have outstanding graphics but MAJOR CHOPPYNESS......Sorry for the caps........

Look at the screens, so many things are taking place, now imagine that with 8 player lan......you don't want it to lag cuase of graphics and such right? Also images never do the game justice (Mario Sunshine anyone?). And if someone says Halo has 16 player lan it has beautiful graphics and it doesn't lag.......well that is becuase they only had one model to play with, which means one thing to load 16 times and thanks to cache that happens in no time.

Myself, the  bubbly cartoon look was what I   was hoping for. I would have hated to see splinter cell realism in Mario kart.

I hope Mario's world will always stay filled with bright colors and  mushrooms galore.

and the graphics are just fine, they will look amazing in motion! and all the character models are the exact same models as the mario party 4! i remember nintendo saying that those would be the standard character models they would use for all their nintendo spin off games!
but personaly, i realy think they should have used the smash bros models instead! they are perfect!

but anyways, this game will own! the themed karts are cool, yet the princess karts kinda look gay!

So do you think that two people can control one car if they want to? (One person steering, other person controls weapons). I know it would be pretty boring though being the weapon person.

I think it would be cool to have both options. You could either control both people with one controller, or have two people control the whole car each with a separate person.

I think another mode with just one player with one person might be cool too.

And one more question, ( I don't know why I'm asking, no one knows), but do you think you get three choices: Driving person, weapon person, and vehicle?

And one last thing, do you know if each character gets their own type of weapons, and they just get items by running into those colorful "?" blocks.

Okay, first of all, here is what we know as of Wednesday, April 23, 2003. You can play up to 8 players using 2 GCN's, 2 TV's, and 2 copies of the game. It is unknown as to whether you can use more than 2 GCN's/TV's.

=16 so far known. Obviously some are missing....like Toad...but we shall see.

Next, it is unknown as to wether or not you can choose your vehicle, but you will be able to pair up any two characters. Each character has his own driving attributes as well as 8 items/powerups exclusive to him/her. There are also 6 general items anyone can use. You can switch your driver and shooter at any point during a race. This will obviously offer a lot of tactics to play into the game, since you may have switched to take advantage of a weapon, but then again your driver changed and thus your kart attributes also changed. It appears you have more control over the weapons and also that your shooter character can "jump" from your kart to another. This is shown in a screen where it shows Daisy jumping from Luigi's kart (well actually the princess kart, Luigi is driving) onto the Kong Kart, with both Donkey Kong and Diddy already onboard.

As for the graphics...yes they aren't jaw-dropping, but I garauntee you the animation is incredible (in one screen, Donkey kong pulls a sharp turn and Diddy out back is almost thrown off as he barely hangs on...), and I wouldn't be surprised if it ran in 60 fps in 4 player split screen as well.

Now give us LAN F-Zero!!! 29 human opponents hahahahahah

EDIT: Oh, and I don't think Nintendo is lying when it says each character will have 8 EXCLUSIVE weapons. I doubt there are clones. And this game has been in development more than SSBM, which was slightly rushed in terms of clone characters...Let's see, 6 normal weapons, plus 16 known characters with 8 weapons each....that's a lot of weapons. Unless Nintendo is lying and each character has their own weapon SET but not entirely new weapons...we shall see at E3.

It looks very fun, I can't wait. I just want to know if all races will have two characters per vehicle. Or will there be single driver races with the same karts or origonal ones. Ether way I know im gonna love it to death.

I don't think she (Daisy)'s jumping, I just think we caught her in a frame where she's getting jostled, check out near the tires, the two karts had just clipped eachother.

Either that, or she could be doing the Super Smash Bros. Melee "hip" attack that Peach had.

I know Peach is female, but... that's still a very ugly kart. And that means you're going to see it all the time. Makes it feel a little less like Mario Kart and a little more like Wacky Races. ;P All well.
