Can we see a visual size comparison with the DSFat? Seems to be the XBox of the DSes.

This is totally crazy. I didn't expect the DSi LL to leave Japan, but it's coming next year. I can't really imagine who would really want this. If anything it feels frustrating because the DSi is not even a year old. This is like the GameBoy upgrades, but much more accelerated. Maybe Nintendo figures that they have the sales to back up stronger and more advanced hardware. To me it seems more and more like a e-reader or tablet. I just hope that this doesn't replace the DSi system. I will be upset if the DSi LL will be able to do anything better than the DSi. Anything!

At this point not enough is known about the DSi LL to know whether it's "better" than a DSi.  We don't know how Nintendo's going to handle the bigger screens (larger pixels, upscaling, etc.), we don't know if there's going to be a better processor in it (seems unlikely) and we don't know if there's going to be a bigger storage solution.

I found the DS Lite to be rather uncomfortable so if this is larger then it might make it that much easier for me to hold. That's what I like about it. There sure will be a lot of options for me should I one day decide to buy a second-hand DS...

I thought you were a collector, or was that only for N64 games?

Mostly Nintendo 64, yeah. But I've always tried to focus more on games rather than hardware and accessories, and I've never had much interest in portables either.

I don't really care for a bigger device, the DSi is the perfect size for me. I don't want a huge portable hence why I don't own a PSP.

I think it's pretty obvious that the specs are identical to the DSi other than the screen size (and therefore pixel size) and battery size (mostly due to the increase in space demanded by the larger screen).  I don't know why anyone is speculating more.  It's meant to be a DSi with larger screens.  Nothing more.  The bundled apps just reinforce the target audience.

Wanna buy a used DS Hevy in really good condition?  :)

You're most likely correct, but I don't think anything has been made official yet.  I already have a DSi so it doesn't really affect me either way.

I am planning on picking one up at the end of November. The main reason I want to import it is for the future DSi only titles and it seems Nintendo is getting some great stuff over on the Japanese DSiWare.

I know it's frustrating that Nintendo seems to be updating the DS at least every other year, but I think this is a very positive step (assuming they don't pull a PSPgo and raise the price).

I'm almost 30 now and when most of you get there, you'll see you start losing some of your eyesight typically.  You don't have to be 80 years old to enjoy a larger screen.  I much enjoyed the PSPs screen which is why I can't believe they shrunk it for the go.  I have 2 DS phat's and this may get me to upgrade.  I was upset that the DSi came out because like VC and WiiWare on the Wii(at least for the longest time), DSi has crap support.  Yes, DS has a great library but there is absolutely nothing out there that makes me think I need to spend $170 to have a DSi.  They should have just made a DS 2 and been done with it so developers were forced to make games for it.  Having said that it'll probably still take me at least 1 killer app and and a price point < $150 to jump on board but this at least has me excited about the DS again.  A 4.2" screen is 96% bigger than my Phat screen.  I think that is a worthy upgrade.  It's 67% bigger than the current DSi model.  What's also interesting is since the PSP uses a 16:9 ratio and the DSi uses a 4:3, that one screen on the DSi LL will be 7% bigger than the 4.3 inch PSP screen.

The screens are big and bright, and are at exactly the same resolution as the standard DS and DSi's pixel count so the picture looks natural. It's not stretched or upscaled because the resolution is identical. But the big screens definitely make the games "pop" as you play them – I'm really digging The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks on the new system.

:Q :confused;

Same rez, bigger screen and not stretched and it 'pops' what ??

It means that the picture just kinda explodes off the screen due the the bigger screen.

Exactly what I anticipated.  Pale's technobabble fearmongering belongs in some defunct gaming magazine.
