Atari to Publish Ghostbusters Video Game

According to Dan Aykroyd, Atari has picked up the orphaned game, but it is still a year away.

After the Ghostbusters video game was unceremoniously dumped by Activision Blizzard after their merger, fans have been wondering who will publish the game and when it would come out. Ghostsbusters' actor Dan Aykroyd revealed on Dallas radio station 105.3 KLLI that Atari will publish the Ghostbusters video game, but he also revealed that the game is still a year away from release. The cause of the delay might have to do with a tie-in with the upcoming 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters or with the rumored new Ghostbusters movie.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is being developed for multiple platforms, with Red Fly Studios handling the versions for the Wii and DS.

Who ya gonna call!

Glad to see this was picked up after the Activision & Vivendi merger. I was and still am eager to see this turnout well.

Now, if only some one will save Brutal Legend.

Well I hope they use this extra time to polish the game up some more. I heard it was virtually done, so it doesn't hurt to go back and make sure it is done!

last i heard this game had great gameplay ideas, but terrible execution. So I hope they give it time to be a great game. Atari NEEDS this to be a hit and loved so I'm glad they are delaying it instead of trying to push it out of the door for quick buck.

This is one game where the Wii version REALLY needs to be the best version.  The gameplay ideas and the Wiimote go hand-in-hand.  It just can't be fucked up.

They don't, but this is the one time where they should.  I need them to, otherwise I'll just be waiting for Luigi's Mansion 2.
