8.8 is the sucks. I R predictable. Seriously it is sad when a game is getting praised like crazy and Nintendo is lazy now because they stuck closer to the formula that MORE people seem to love, including myself. Maybe Nintendo didn't go the Super Punch-Out!! route because they felt others weren't nearly as impressed with that game? Nah, it has be because they are lazy! I mean all they did was provide the game with some amazing personal, tons of replay value via fun challenges/unlockables, multiplayer mode, and a WHOLE NEW second quest which flips everything on its head that has NEVER been done before in the series.
But I guess since it retains the mechanics of the original game and shows respect towards it, it is Punch-Out!! with pretty graphics right? Let's forget how it leap frogs BOTH console games in regards to features. But I guess since Ian doesn't like the original Punch-Out!! no one should be happy with this game and the re imagining of some of our favorite characters. I know I HATED the Super Punch-Out!! roster besides a couple of fighters (along with the classic ones). These characters are far from carbon copies of their original versions either, they are re imagined and imbued with what appears to be some tremendous personality, animation and interaction. The familiar is made new again.
Then:
I was afraid that Punch-Out would have lousy motion controls and I'm GLAD they're offering a traditional method. Let the fools have their waggle.
Now:
The game controls best with the NES controller setup? It sounds like this is EXACTLY what I feared it would be - a sequel that stays WAY too close to the original.
