Battletoads is great, a friend of mine and I played the hell out of it on his brother's NES. We never got past the second or third level but we loved it.

You just explained why everyone else hates it.  When a game is so ridiculously hard that you can't even get pasted the first few levels, that's not fun.  The bike levels are the cheapest levels in videogame history.  They're all way to long and require you to be pixel perfect in everything you do.  Not to mention the entire game itself was way too long and only gave you 3 f*cking continues and no save or password feature.  Because of this it was completely impossible for anyone to beat without using a Game Genie.

In other words, Battletoads difficulty makes Megaman 1 look like Wind Waker.

The least likely candidate for the arm buster I can think of is Elecman in the GB version. Let's see... Lightning that goes 3-4 blocks high and a jump height of 2 blocks...

i'm in the dorm now and I can't download VC or Wiiware games or connect online for gaming.

So I would of downloaded Mega Man but I can't.

If you're really desparate, pick up one of the Wi-Fi USB Connectors. It works for me at school as long as you have a computer near your Wii.
Although I think they're discontinued...

I had one of those things a while back and the stupid think broke on me. For no reason too, I got a refund and never looked back.

I also have a mac so those things only work on PC.

And the dorm strongly hates use of any 3rd party attachments to the Wifi network.

So I can't win. Oh well every once in a while when I visit my mom I'll take the wii over and download some games using that online.

Considering how hot mine gets, I imagine it melted.  Nintendo probably discontinued them out of fear of setting their customers on fire.

Yeah I would never say it is a bad game, just horribly balanced in difficulty. There is challenging and then there is a cheap and it gets cheap later on. Though it is a blast until those points.

Kudu has the best avatar on the entire forums. Don't question it--accept it.

Now then, Battletoads seriously made me weep. I was able to get as far as the "outrace a giant spinning orb" stage, but the orb always caught up to me. Insta-kill! I'm not even sure you CAN beat that level without a cheat device. The game was fun as hell until that point, though. There's something to be said for tough-as-nails games that require memorization and precision to get through. I've always hoped that either Battletoads or Battlemaniacs would hit the Virtual Console...

Are you referring to me?  The avatar's for our upcoming Mafia game.  You should join!

*shrugs* Mine works fine.
Except there was as instance where it stopped working because there was interference. I looked up the error code and it said something like: "Remove large metal objects such as a filing cabinet." Sure enough, my roommate's filing cabinet was in the way.

Uh, no, that's actually Brock Sampson from "The Venture Bros."

I'm fully aware of who Brock Sampson is.  I just don't have the faintest idea who Kudu is.  My best (and only) guess was a misspelling of my user name.

It was. Are you saying Brock is in the Mafia game? That would rock, although I'm assuming you have permission to use his likeness.

It's roll-playing, baby!  The theme for this game is Secret Agents.

Seriously though, you should join.  Sign-ups end today, so be quick about it.
