At PAX, This game looked so similar to the previous ones that I didn't even bother standing in line thirty minutes to play it.

Why would you even consider playing a game like Animal Crossing at PAX? Even if it looked new it's not the kind of game you're going to learn anything about from playing it for that short a time.

For those interested in this game Nintendo plans to bundle Wiispeak and Animal Crossing:City Folk for $70.00 and they also plan to have the game by itself.

Yeah, as much as AC owns sections of my soul, a $70 price tag is a shocker no matter how you slice it. As a value proposition, I guess I'll be getting the Wii Speak / AC bundle, but it still induces sticker shock.

I stated that they would sell it separately also.:) The only other game that I can think of that developers are going to implement is The Conduit.

Kairon it is a bit pricey but for what you get it is a good value.

For $20, Wiispeak had better have excellent noise and echo-cancellation.

I really would not give my hopes up. Regardless AC is going to be great even if it is more of the same . ;)

I was really hoping that Nintendo was going to give Animal Crossing a little cheaper of a price, but I guess not. With this being (or at least seeming to be) practically the same game as the N64 version, you would think that the lack of effort on the part of Nintendo would be translated into a cheaper game for us consumers. Oh well.

I don't see what's the big deal for paying an extra 20 bucks for the bundle.  I actually think that's a very reasonable price.

Now charging 10 bucks for extra wii wheels is a little much.

AC is Nintendo's equivalent of the FPS genre.  You should be happy they're taking the "progressive" approach.

What do you mean lack of effort? I'm willing to bet that AC has been in development for a year and a half! It's been confirmed since forever, and the head guy's last game was... what? Back in 2006?

Well what the hell have they been doing for the past year and a half besides remaking the same damn game for a different system? It seems their additions are quite minimal and ultimately disappointing. The game has ENORMOUS potential and they fail to realize an ounce of it.

Seriously though, if they have spent that much time on this game everyone involved needs to find employment doing something else. Unless of course there is some huge, unannounced portion of the game that really sets it apart from the other two, then I rescind my comments.

This sums up my feelings on the subject.

Unless there's some HUGE new portion of the game, it just won't be worth it.

And the potential the game has is just insane. I remember playing the GC AC and whenever the villagers would say something along the lines of "Wouldn't it be great if we had a movie theater here in town?" my friends and I would all say "I bet it'll be in the sequel..."

I had fun with WW on the DS, but most because my friend and I turned it into "Furry Crossing" with all of the off-color letters we'd send to each other's villagers.

    KEY INFORMATION
If life were an endless vacation, what would you do? Go fishing, collect shells or watch fireworks with friends? Build a snowman, exchange presents with family or decorate your house for the holidays? Take a trip to the city, go on a shopping spree or visit friends from all over the globe? In Animal Crossing: City Folk, life moves at a relaxed pace, but the world brims with endless possibilities.

    * There’s always something new to do. In the living, breathing world of Animal Crossing: City Folk, days and seasons pass in real time, so there’s always something to discover. Catch fireflies in the summer, go trick-or-treating on Halloween or hunt for eggs on Bunny Day. If you’re in the mood for something a little faster paced, take a bus to a new urban city area that’s unique to Animal Crossing: City Folk. There you can catch a show at the theater or check out the sales at Gracie’s boutique. But if you don’t show your face back home for too long, your neighbors will miss you.

    * Up to four people from your household can live and work together to build the perfect town. Design clothes and patterns, write letters and post messages on the bulletin board for each other, or invite up to three friends to visit your town using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. With the new WiiSpeak microphone, it’s like you’re all in the same room. The microphone sits atop the sensor bar and picks up the conversation of everyone in the room to encourage a more inclusive experience.

    * Get to know your neighbors. The heart of Animal Crossing: City Folk is building relationships with the animals in your town as well as with other players. Befriend your animal neighbors by exchanging letters, gifts and favors. Animals can also move from town to town, bringing their memories and stories from their old towns with them. And since animals are notoriously loose-lipped, they spill all the juicy details.

    * Express your personal style. Customize your town, your house and yourself by collecting bugs, fish, fossils, art, furniture, clothes and accessories. You can also go to the salon in the city to change your hairstyle and get a Mii™ makeover. Plus, if you design clothes in the tailor’s shop, animals will wear them and maybe even bring them to other towns.

Pleassssssee tell me the ridiculous single house for all players nonsense from the DS version is gone.

I'd much prefer the house per person style of the GCN version.

It's offical Cammie Dunaway:
Quote
Cammie Dunaway: We are going to do limited edition bundle with Animal Crossing that will run for $59.99 and will come out on the 16th as well.

Well that's 10 bucks cheaper than everyone thought it was going to be.  Didn't everyone think that it was going $69.99?  10 bucks for wiispeak is a very good deal. Preorder for sure.
