This gets more and more excited every time I see it. The game looks quirky, innovative, and FRESH.
Too bad American homophobia and the obscure Nintendo references will likely keep this away from our shores.
The way I see it, the game has no *** elements (as far as I know, and Birdo is in the game). Its basically a game built around the interaction of classic Nintendo characters. In other words; Chibi Robo with Nintendo characters.
The only thing that inspires homophobia is the name Captain Rainbow. The rainbow has been seen as a symbol for girls and *** people. Remember Rainbow Brite? She was an icon for girls.
We live in an era in which gamers view consoles as extensions of their egos, life styles...and dicks.
A game with a name like Captain Rainbow makes little boys...I mean grown men fear that their status is in shaky ground.
I personally see the character as a farce, kinda like Powered Toast Man. If the Rainbow elements are removed or toned down there wouldn't be a problem.
If this game is released in the US, name intact and all, I have to congratulate Nintendo for being bold.
