I don't know what plumbers putty is, but not likely.  Thermal Paste has to withstand over 100 degrees Celsius.

Thats crazy dude, I can't image Office 2007 ever running on that machine.

And honest, again I really doubt you'll get the speed to feel that much faster. But best of luck!

A celeron 560mhz? it may be slot 1 processor.

If you want more performance from your older PC, might I suggest Puppy Linux? http://www.puppylinux.org/ it's bootable from CD.

I think I am just going to leave it how it is.
The only reason I asked about the plumbers putty is cuz my brother in law is a plumber and he has lots of that stuff so I don't wanna have to buy anything.

Well it does just barely meet the minimum requirements.

Can you imagine using this as your primary computer, man every times I have to work on her computer it makes me appreciate mine that much more, and mine is already four years old.
