The point isn't to trust MY opinion. The point is to not let opinion override facts. The fact of the matter is that though reviews of this game are lackluster, the only stated reasons for it being so are some re-used monster models (which isn't a new thing in the games industry), and some lackluster graphics. After playing the game myself, I can completely discount their control complaints. Seriously, differences of opinion are one thing. Mashiro paid ten dollars for Paper Mario and is not liking it... just like I paid $40 for RE4 on the GC and ended up not liking that either (my own fault, I've never been an RE fan). But if you're going to tear down this game, bring me some talking points, some reasoning, something more than the re-spouting of other people's tepid and disinterested opinions, please!
But anyways... Your request is a toughie. People usually do their best to forget their bad games... How about 3 least favorite Wii games, trying to look at it both from a personal subjective standpoint and a more general objective styandpoint?
Least favorite Wii games I've played, subjectively:
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam (Maybe I just don't 'get' Tony Hawk games)
Tom Clancy: Splinter Cell (played this co-op with a friend... really didn't enjoy the controls and the co-op's story and game design didn't excite me much either, is single player any better? I really don't care to find out)
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (sp?) (Contrary to popular opinion, I thought the wii controls were gimiicky and added little or nothing to the experience. Doesn't help I'm not a big DBZ fan...)
(Red Steel is also working its way onto this list because of boring level design and some horrifically poorly stereotyped depictions (and voice acting... oh god the voice acting) of asians in the game, as well as an art style that depicts the Japanese in a way makes me want to rip my tv in two everytime one of the cutscenes comes out. I discovered these complaints on my second attempt at a playthrough).
Worst Wii games I've played, trying to be objective:
Cooking Mama (Sorry, but this game really IS low budget in the worst way. I never figured out a use for the kitchen, the controls are wonky for some movements, and Cooking is broken down into graded tasks that destroy any fluidity the experience had, especially in multiplayer)
Rayman Raving Rabbids (I love the concept, but a whole lot of the minigames are simple affairs "banging on a rabbid's head with a wiimote holds your attention for 4 seconds... and ONLY the first time you play it, not to mention that the game had WAAAAYYYY too many menus in party mode, with each minigame being hard to find when you wanted it, with about 3-5 menu interfaces to navigate through between each play.)
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam (This had decent production values and neat voice acting but... well, lackluster everything else. Playing it four player was especially atrocious because you couldn't make anything out... pure mediocrity is sometimes harder to forgive than utter failure)
(Harry Potter is actually also a very mediocre title... but it actually has some redeeming qualities)
I guess I could do more, but do you really want me to dig out my Gamecube library?
