OMG! Nintendo has the best Customer Service!
« on: March 16, 2003, 06:45:25 AM »
My Cube went crazy on me. I was playing Metroid Prime and then just suddenly it shut off. I started to think that we just maybe had lost power but I soon realized that my lights were still on. Of course I freaked out and imediatley tried turning the Cube back on. Nothing happened. I tried everything and I tried everything for like 2 hours. I started looking for my waranty only to see that it was expired by like 2 months. I called up NOA HQ and they said they would extend my warranty for me. A few days later after I had shipped it I got a call form some lady at NOA HQ. She said my GameCube was unfixable but they were going to send me a new one. They then asked if I wanted a Orange Spice, Indigo, Jet Black, or Platinum. I said Platinum. They then said they would send me 2 platinum controllers with it. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better she asked me if I wanted Resident Evil 0, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime, or Mario Party 4. I told her that I already had those titles so they said they would send me Super Mario Sunshine which I didn't have and was about to buy. My Cube and all the other stuff came a few days after. Nintendo kicks ass when it comes to costumer service. Nintendo can plan on having me as a loyal customer for a long long time.

My friend had a similar experience, except the free game thing wasn't going on.  He had an internal memory error, sent it off, and although the warranty was well expired, he got a new GameCube and a new controller.  Seriously, Nintendo knows how to treat its people.

OMG that is awesome!!!!!!! Especially if you didn't have a Platimum Cube before (Thankfully I do, hehe). And the free game and controllers on top of that!!! Wait, that gives me an idea...

(Pulls out sledgehammer. Hits his Gamecube several times really hard, but 'cube doesn't break)

I'd like a platinum GameCube and controller.  Do you think if I just called them and acted like a whiny kid who got an indigo Cube and wanted a platinum one, they'd swap it for me? Or should I break it and send it in?

Wait they asked if you wanted an orange one?  Isn't that one Japan only right now? Maybe this is a sign that they are about to release it in the states.  (or are you in japan right now?)

Man I wish I had a Platinum Cube. Why do I have to get everything early? Seriously...I go spend $200 on a black cube and then a few months later the price drops to $150, a new bad ass color, and a FREE GAME. I don't know if I believe this story is true...it has its faults.

Wait a SECOND!  Jollus, have you caught Good Mr. Oson in a lie??????????  ;-)

Just kidding......

But if this gets out, the fans could actually sink Nintendo as they are left with millions of broken systems and the world is covered in platinum GameCubes.  Oh, the horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;-)

Imagine this scenario:

"Boy's GameCube breaks.  Boy cries.  Boy sends GCN to Nintendo.  They send him a plat. Cube, two controllers, and an Asian woman.

Boy posts to internet his harrowing tale.

Gary reads this Boy's post and hears that Nintendo does everything to keep their customers happy.  He scrounges in his garage, finds old My Pretty Pony playset, some transistors, and some copper wiring, boxes it up, sends it to Nintendo with a letter of complaint saying, 'This crap doesn't play games at all--send me a new GameCube lest I tell the world.'

Boy's post --------------> Gary's insane scam ----------------> Death of Mankind.

Think about it.

They said if I were to pick an orange spice one then they wouldn't have controllers to send with it and I would have to pay a little more extra money (10 or 15 bucks I think) They said the reason why they sent me a game is because they had never had any reports like this one. You see, My cube didn't just have a Internal Memorey Error, it just completley sjut off. Just like that. It was almost like it just got pissed at me for playing so much and got tired so it just went to sleep. lol. But seriously I wouldn't want an orange one anyway. I personally think they are ugly.

hey you know that problem the launch systems had with Eternal Darkness? about the hardware being unbalanced and spining the disk badly creating an audio skip? does that count as fked up? because I want to get that fixed by them too... it keeps getting worse. I don't even care if I get a new system or controllers because I have it all anyway but I want it fixed. Do you think they fix that kinda crap or can it even be fixed?

Best Customer Service Ever comes from the people at the Retail Support Centers (For all 3 systems). I've had some problems with all of our displays at work, and I give them a call and they have the parts I need within a week, no questions asked except for "What part do you need".
