The game's RPG and fighting system gets a little bit deeper the more you learn about it. You start to notice which foods give you what stats (I love chow mein early on personally), and you discover the all-special books which teach you lightning fast punches and kicks. Later on, you find expensive shoes, visit a sauna instead of an inn, and stock up on vitamins.

But there are so many damn food choices how the hell am I supposed to figure out what does what?  I guess I could buy one of everything, but I'm too busy for something at stupid as that.  And why is my Max Power always maxed out?  How do I increase the max?  Killing enemies doesn't seem to gain experience, so as far as I can tell, you only level up by eating.

Some of the stats are self-explanatory (Punch, Kick, Weapon, Throw, Agility, Defense), but others are completely obscure.  What the Hell is Strength, and how is it different from Punch/Kick?  Will Power?  Which one increases the length of your life gauge--Stamina or Max Power?  What's the other one do?

I've bought a few of the books, but I have no idea what any of them do before you buy them.  What the Hell is Indian Lore?

Visit a Sauna instead of an Inn?  I haven't even come across an Inn yet (that I know of).  What's an Inn do that eating food doesn't?  What about the Sauna?

There seems to be an incredibly deep game here, but the lack of any explanation whatsoever makes it hard to accomplish anything without feeling like I'm stumbling around in the dark.

Sorry to confuse you about the Sauna. There are no inns in the game. The Sauna is an alternative to eating, it replenishes your life, it's really neat because it features full real nudity... I think. LOL

Yeah, this game is deep but offers next to no explanation, which was fine for the 80's and early 90's. Those are the days hardcore gamers were expected to die a billion times before figuring things out (think old school shmups)... *sigh* tis a pity.

BTW, I just ignore strength, max either my punch or kick (or weapon or throw depending on your style), count willpower and max willpower as my health, sort of ignore the rest, and find that early 27 or something dollar book that let's you either punch or kick real fast/ Not acro circus. The dragon feet or stone punch or something.

It's confirmation that the game is coming out, just not when it's coming out. Vectorman was rated by the ESRB over a year ago.

As for River City Ransom, what the stats mean and which books do what are explained in the Operations Guide of the VC game. I'm pretty sure in some thread around here someone posted a link to a web site that gave the stats for all the food.

EDIT: I found it, the site is http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/nes/rcr/shopping.shtml

Finally a real classic puzzle game (sorry Puyo Puyo and Columns fans), and a very unexpected choice for the next N64 game. I'm sure they released this version of the game because they didn't want to pay to license the Tetris name so they could release Tetris Attack. I'd buy it if Planet Puzzle League on the DS didn't exist.

Ok I hate to bring this back up but I was re-reading the old posts and it seams nobody ever gave me a clear answer to this. I know it has been over a year but I still haven't solved this mystery.

Regarding TMNT games. The NES had 3 main games and then there was TMNT IV Turtles in Time for the SNES.

TMNT1 NES
TMNT2-The Arcade Game NES~~~~~BASED on the arcade Game
TMNT 3- The Manhattan Project NES
TMNT IV Turtles in Time SNES~~~~~~BASED on the arcade game
IS TMNT IV based on the SAME games as TMNT2, that was my question and NOBODY could answer me clearly.

I knew it wasn't the same as TMNT 1 for NES, but that was the first response I got. It was also said, I think Spak-Spang said it, that it was a sequel? To the original arcade? Or did I read that post wrong? Someone please clarify because I never played Turtles in Time.

Is TMNT 1- NES the only TMNT game released for VC cuz if it is what the hell happened? Sorry for bringing this back up but I never got a clear answer. Vudu tried to clear it up but his reply, in light of others, didn't help much.

From what I understand the SNES game was based on the Arcade game with a few omissions and additions. The omissions are 4 player co-op the snes got 2 player co-op. The additions extra stages not in the arcade. And a few differences with boss battles. I will try to find more info.

It is down near the bottom. Hope this helps.:)

You did not read my post.

IS IT THE SAME ARCADE TMNT2 IS BASED ON? Or is it a different Arcade machine?

I do not remember the statue of liberty being in that game.

EDIT: Sorry don't mean to sound rude, its just a yes or no question and nobody can answer.

I tried looking it up on Gamefaqs, that site made things more confusing. Both FAQs were incomplete and neither one made it clear.

This is too confusing. I tried reading up on Gamefaqs but nothing there made any sense. From what I could gather is TMNT1, TMNT 2, and TMNT 3 are all different games, TMNT IV and Hyper Stone Heist for GENESIS are the same game something? I guess I am just going to have to buy the game and see for myself.

Damn stupid Konomi for not labeling things correctly.

The main reason I want to know is I played the arcade game a lot (the game TMNT2:THE ARCADE GAMES was ported as) but I never played the Genesis or SNES games so when I heard they were loosely based on the Arcade game but then as I read up on them they sounded too different so I couldn't tell and I haven't met one person who has played Turtles in Time AND the NES TMNT2 game to make comparisons.

Edit: Ok well Gamefaqs makes no sense at all, but according to Wikipedia it is a sequel to the arcade game I was thinking of and not the same game.

I don't think so. What I've seen of Turtles in Time differs greatly from the first arcade game (which I've played in the arcade and on the C64).

Thanks KDR, I looked it up on Wikipedia cuz Gamefaqs didn't make any sense at all.

I never knew there was 2 different arcade games though, I knew there was a 4 player version and a 2 player version because I played both. Unless the 2player version was a hack or something?

TMNT 2: The Archade Game (NES) is based off of an arcade game, naturally with worse graphics but similar levels, etc. The arcade was called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and is © 1989.

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES) and its Genesis counterpart are based off a completely different arcade game, but likewise don't have as good graphics & music but have similar yet not always identical levels. The arcade game was called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time" and is © 1991.

Does that clear things up?

I just finished DoReMi Fantasy.  It was cute and fun, but somehow didn't seem as charming as The Dynastic Hero.  I think part of it was the music.  It seemed like most of the levels in DoReMi had only low-key ambient music.  It suited some levels, but most of the time it seemed inappropriately creepy. D:

Anyway, pretty good platformer for those who've already played SMW to death.

We should have a thread where everyone posts their Virtual Console, and Wiiware once available, titles with our own user recommendations. IF we already have that please point me to it so I can make my list. If not can I start one or would it be redundant?

I remember someone once edited Wikipedia to say that Cho Aniki was "possibly the most overtly homosexual game in existence, with the exception of Phoenix Wright."
