An obviously awesome game like F-Zero X on the VC?

It's official people: We're entering a new dry spell for retail games, as the increase in VC quality suggests. With the delay of ManHunt 2, we're not seeing anything until the end of July I think, so maybe we'll even get one or two more decidedly awesome games out of the deal.

"What's the last/best Street Fighter 2 game to come out for the SNES? and for any system?"

The best depends on opinion (the only concensus is that the original SF2 is the worst) but Super Street Fighter II is the most recent one on the SNES and Super Street Fighter II Turbo is the last one period though at the time it was only on the 3DO and will very likely not be available on the VC.  Purists will prefer Turbo but everyone else will probably prefer Super since it has four extra characters.  If you need to ask this question then wait for Super Street Fighter II.

I was thinking the same thing, if Manhunt 2 is delayed the only game that interests me is Mario Strikers which comes out by the end of July, and this month I didn't even get Scarface or RE4-Wii.

I tried the first track on F-Zero X, it was fun!
I tried pulling off some combos with Chun-Li and I miserably failed, damn Ryu and his HADUKENs.

F-ZERO X! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

I got way too good at F-Zero GX, and it seems most of my friends couldn't handle the speed of that game, so it wasn't much fun when I always beat them. I'll be downloading X right away - it's quite a bit slower, and I know I'll get a better challenge from them now. Plus, I can't wait to play this with a Wavebird.

I'm very interested in finally being able to play F-Zero X since I should be able to actually enjoy this one.  Now F-Zero GX was fun and all but it was just way too damn hard.  The problem was it required you to be perfect at racing games just to beat the normal difficulties, and so for someone like me who's only about average in the racing category the game was just unplayable, especially chapter 7 in Story Mode.  Hell even my friends who were much better at racing games then me couldn't beat that horrible cheap as hell excuse for a stage.

Of course I don't regret buying it because the multiplayer was a complete blast for all of us to play.  The winner was usually the guy that went the slowest because the rest of us, especially myself would end up going so damn fast we couldn't see where we were going anymore and then boom.

I don't get what all this about F-Zero GX being too hard is. All you have to be is perfect. That's all. *shrug*

But I always had the impression that F-Zero X was actually harder than GX...?

I am a sucker...I just downloaded Street Fighter 2 again, now with Turbo.  But I love the series so much.

F-Zero X is now also on my system.  It is interesting.  Because of the analog nature of the shoulder buttons you have to press to the click for sliding.  I like this, and at the same time don't.

F-Zero X is definitely hard, because the hover crafts controls so crazy.  However, I have never felt that the game was cheating, or that my craft exploding was not my fault but poor design.

I think what ends up making the game feel better and not as difficult is the large tracks and just now unique and fun the track design is.

When you are racing on the half pipes, tunnels, or pipes you just smile whether you win or lose.  The speed is simply incredible, and every track has something to let it stand out in your mind.

Here's a challange... for those in NA, at least.

Write up a list of games that we "know" are coming out for the VC, but haven't been released yet - and source them.  This list would include games that have shown up on the ESRB website and games listed in Nintendo Power and in Nintendo press releases.

Who's up for it?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Only wanting to overpay for a game once, which ecco version should I get?  I haven't found a good comparative review on websites.

Also, nobody can probably help me out, but I was looking for a snes game.  I remember it using the mode 7 chip.  It was a racing game in the same vein as mario kart.  I don't think their was shooting items at each other and I don't remember jump turns.  All I do remember is that their was 8 player racing, you actually qualified for each track, you could jump fairly high (don't remember the point), and the main guy (at least the guy I raced with) drove a bi-wing plane.  Their was also a decent soccer mode (kick with the karts) and the laps were customizable (3,5,7,9 lap races).  Seeing as there is little to no hope of a vc release I was looking for help remembering the name to pick it up for my still functioning snes.  Any help?

Yoshi is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played but it has nothing to do with how the game plays.  At the time it came out I saw it in the Sears Christmas catalog.  It was just a box shot.  No screens or info on how the game played.  However I assumed it would be a standard Mario platformer.  When playing Super Mario World I thought it would be cool to play Yoshi the whole time.  Remember that kids have, well, stupid ideas and I really just wanted to play though a Mario game with the big advantage riding Yoshi has the whole time (ie: the game's stupidly easy because I can eat everyone and stand on spikes).  My cousins had the game so when I was at their house I asked to play it and was shocked to find out it was a puzzle game.  Dammit I wanted my Yoshi platformer!  Thankfully in a rare scenario of a dream game being made Yoshi's Island came out a few years later and as we all know it ruled.  Still I've always been kind of bummed out by Yoshi.  I don't think I've ever really given it a fair review as a puzzle game.  It's always been that game that was considerably lamer than what I expected.

Yoshi is one of my favorite puzzle-type games. Not so much that I intend to buy it on VC, and it's not the best overall, but it's still a lot of fun. It's a good game for a TI-83 calculator.

I would advise you to watch some clips of Mach rider before you purchase it.
I like it but it can be quite frustrating in the beginning if you don't read the instructions on controls and hud display.
I happened to not read the manual so I was a little aggravated from crashing so many times. Then I noticed on the hud that there were these 1,2,3,4 numbers and I thought "hmm these must be gears to make me go faster", and they were so.
I would say that this game is the F-Zero (and a little bit of Road Rash too) of the NES generation, except you have only 1 bike and one character to choose from lol.
Oh and you can shoot (lasers?) the other bikers or canisters that are laying around, you can also bump the other bikers against the canisters or other obstacles, there are oil and water ponds so you may slip and crash but you can still survive if you're lucky or good enough.
There are 4 modes: Solo, Endurance, Battle, and I think that in the other mode you can create your own tracks.

Heh, I can relate except at the time I only had a Gameboy and was hoping it'd be like Super Mario World.

When I got 2000 Wii points I was ticked off that Nintendo was charging sales tax since I only bought Wii points through the shop channel to avoid tax but now I guess thats not the case anymore oh well theres always amazon.com for free shipping and tax free purchases. I bought Yoshi, Mach Rider and the N64 Fzero and I liked all of them .
