Top secret, can't tell you.

Oh, fine, I'll have to use spoiler tags, but don't tell anyone:

I am in charge of making sure that we communicate with all the third party developers about their games, get exclusives, get games, ask them why they don't make enough copies of their awesome DS lawyer game, etc.

Actually, that's all hogwash: I'm running the site through a puppet governor codenamed GassyGuy. Again, don't tell anyone.

In case there's any confusion: I'm not going anywhere for quite a while.  I just needed to unload some duties onto other people.  I'm still Reviews Editor (which I was doing anyway before this, among many other things), and this time of year, that job is keeping me VERY busy.  One thing I'm looking forward to is having more time to write reviews and editorials.

Jonny, you've got my regards.

I've known you for what now, seven years? Something crazy like that. It's been a long time. You've got a genuine talent, well for a lot of things, but specifically for pulling things together and running a tight ship. I recall back years and years ago when I was just a young pup reading The Nformant on a daily basis. Your work always had a certain charm about it, and it obviously kept me coming back for a long time. I met genuinely good people there who I'm sure all felt the same way about you. I'm sure Evan can tell you the same thing.

When you left the Nformant for PGC I knew you'd do well here, and I was honored to take over your baby for the short while I was able to keep it running. That always stuck me a kind of funny though, you know? I didn't quite cut the mustard because I could never find enough time for both my school work and the Nformant, while you seemingly had no problem managing things well enough to keep the Nformant thriving during your time running it. That's exactly how I knew you'd do well here. When you took over PGC, I had no doubts about whether Billy picked the right man for the job. You've done a beautiful job of sailing this ship the past few years, and for what it's worth I've always been very proud of you for that.

Now it's time for you to pass the torch, or parts of it at least, and I wish you all the best. I wish you all the best with the remainder of your university life, and I again have no doubts about you succeeding from there on out with flying colors. You're a damn fine guy, and I'm proud to be able to call you a friend.

Sincerely,
-James

Evan and Steven, I wish you all the best of luck.

I've been visiting PGC ever since right before it got the name with the cube launch.  I've seen some of the highs and lows of the site.

True my presence here on the boards has greatly diminished since starting my work at AMN, but I still check the site daily. (I still don't have 1000 posts yet I don't think.)  I've met some good friends here and the staff is always good for some goofing off with as well.  I'm proud to say I've met a few of them at E3 and GDC over the last few years.

I'm glad the site has been able to maintain for the most part with all the changes that have gone on.  I'm definitely looking forward to the improvements that are planned for the site.  Its been in its current form for far too long .

Best of luck to Evan and Steven in their new roles.

I just know I'm going to type in the PGC URL every time I get on the internet out of habbit lol. This has been a great site, and while I haven't been actively posting as much as I would like to, I visit the forums on a daily basis. *Must post more* PlanetWii?

I wish you all the luck guys, and we all here appreciate all the work.  We all know other gaming sites have hordes of staffers but nothing beats our PGC team.

Edit:  And to celebrate I've finally made my own Avatar, hooray!

I have been coming to planetgamecube since around the time it was changed to PGC before the Cube was released. Since that day I have been a steady visitor to the site and I always read the reviews of games you guys have before I make a final decision. Jonny, since Billy left you have done a great job with the site. I honestly didn't think a page dedicated to the Gamecube would survive this long. But you guys figured out how to change with the times and morph into an all around Nintendo center. Recently I started to become a regular on the forums and it is easily one of the best places on the Internet. Evan and Steve, good luck in your new roles, I'm sure you'll keep the ball rolling until the next big Nintendo release and beyond.

I hope that with the change we won't have to create new logins and passwords and such.

Hopefully it will be perfectly seamless for your daily readers.

I'm looking forward to much more PGC goodness in the future, and it's a good thing I'll be able to visit from my Wii or else I might never see the new site.

By the way, what kind of doctor are we talking about here?  Medical?  Ph.D.?  Doctor of Nintendology?

We would like to get new forum software, but it's not going to happen at the same time the main site relaunches.

I'm pursuing my Ph.D. in aerospace engineering.  Expect to graduate around 2009.  Hopefully I can keep doing PGC in some capacity for at least that long.

Personally I think the Avatar should be passed down. With each New Head Slightly Modifying it.  Or we could be like Dr. Who.  The avatar be similar but different.

In fact shortened to PGC so I don't have to change my ways.  Actually I hope it splits like PlanetGamecube.
I love this site.  We don't always get along but I'm almost always here now.  I'll trust your guys reviews over about anybody elses.  I'll also go to task defending this site even when I don't agree.
Jonny, You've done a great job.
Staff, Keep up the good work.
Forumers,  If we survive TP and SSBB then we can survive anything, still pending.

i'v been here since the beginning as a forum dude, anyways its been a very very very long time. I'm 22 and I was like 16 or 17 when I started reading this site(opn2000,pn2000).

It says alot that someone could read the same website everyday for 7-8 years.
Good job guys!

Oh man.  Thinking about it I was a teenager when I first joined the forums too.  I was 19.  God that seems like so long ago.  Back then the idea of being in your mid-20's seems like eons from now.

Anyway good job on the site Jonny and I look forward to see what's in store.  The tease article though suggests that maybe you guys have been around Nintendo a little too long.

I am embarassed, I've totally blanked on the site I came here from. It was a popular Nintendo site and it shut down because the guy who ran it went to work for a high paying porn site. And the guy who did the Q&A everyday came to PN2000 and I followed because I loved the Q&A. But I can't remember which staff member it was and the site's name

Lots of good memories here. Looking forward to the redesign and more editorials. I thought I remember someone saying PGC was the permanent name.. why the change?
