And yes, I have done it in Animal Crossing for the GameCube as well.

What is it with Nintendo and difficult tasks?  I expect I'll have to get to nearly a billion Bells in every AC game that will ever be.  I only have like 380 of the 386 Pokémon (the ones left are from stupid promotional thingies that I miss out on).  I can't pass F-Zero GX Story Mode 7 (but maybe just 'cause I suck at racing).

Sure, it's a good feeling when you finally accomplish something difficult, but things like a billion Bells in AC is so tedious and time-consuming it's almost not fun.

And yet, I keep going.  >_<  *sigh*

Have you maxed the score in New SMB?

That is a TON of bells, does that all fit in the bank? If it does now you can try littering the entire town with money bags. :P Though that'd be kinda ugly

That's not a billion bells.  You're one short.  Haha.

Seriously, congrats.  I don't have the attention span to do that.  I need to feed my Nintendog.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Ah, you found that in the other topic. did you?

No, I didn't get an Action Replay or whatever for the DS.

Yes, it's a similar workaround, and yes, it still took a very long time.

Is it cheating if it still requires several days of effort?

I don't know--is it still stealing if it takes you several days/months/years to "earn" the pay out?

Okay, maybe it is.

It involved me travelling to a hacked town that had bags of 99000 Bells each just strewn about everywhere.  Each trip I was able to carry 26 bags (or 2574000 Bells, which was pretty close to the amount I had actually earned before I started all this).  It still involved nearly 400 trips back and forth...back and forth...back and forth...MY EYES...

Now, I could've grabbed the town hall model from the hacked town.  Nope, I wanted to get my own by saving 999999999 Bells in the bank myself.  Which I did.  Now if someone actually made that much via more proper channels, that would be impressive.

But seriously, who can play AC 24/7?  Even if they did it'd be unlikely that they could have a billion Bells by now.

Yeah, it definitely is, even if it still took you awhile to do it.

Okay, okay, so it is cheating.  Even though someone else did the hacking and it still took me nearly 400 trips.

Who's more insane - Nintendo, for including such a crazy goal (it's required for the town hall model) that it takes even cheaters forever to get, or me, for actually doing it?

Well, technically it's still cheating, but cheating is okay in my books...of course if you cheat your way through all games you're only cheating yourself, but when a goal is so hard that you can't achieve it on your own, or the game turns into a chore before you can achieve it, then "cheating" is perfectly acceptable.  Getting 1 billion -1 Bells legitimately would probably take tens of thousands of hours.  That's ridiculous, so I say that technically it's cheating, but realisitically...congratulations!

That's my opinion, not yours.
